Arrests:

6:12pm       100 Blk Blythdale         Firearm Possession
Sgt. Alvarez, Officer Padilla and Officer Seavey responded to the 100 block of Blythdale Avenue to serve a search warrant. They notified Officers Peregoy, Trail and Barajas, the Sunnydale Housing Officers, of the search warrant and the intended resident. Upon arrival, the housing units advised they had located the resident outside and in close proximity of the 100 block of Sunnydale Avenue. The subject was detained while the search warrant was executed. Officer Elmore and his canine companion named, “Mac”, responded as well and conducted a walkthrough of the residence. Mac alerted on numerous scents within the residence. The listed officers then searched the locations and recovered narcotics, a scale, plastic baggies, stacks of U.S Currency and a firearm. The subject was ultimately arrested and booked at Ingleside Station and the items were seized and booked in as evidence. Report number 120687100

7:30pm       100 Blk Blythdale         Warrant
Officer Peregoy was in the area of the 100 block of Sunnydale Avenue assisting on a search warrant, when he recognized a subject from previous contacts. Officer Peregoy knew the subject had an outstanding warrant and confirmed the warrant through the Central Warrants Bureau. The subject was taken into custody and booked on the outstanding warrant. 1:55am       Unit Blk Marne             Auto Boost
Officer Carrasco and Officer Dominguez responded and met with a victim of an auto boost. The victim received a phone call from a neighbor informing him that an unknown subject was just seen inside his vehicle. The victim then went outside and found his car door open. He conducted an inventory search and found miscellaneous change missing totaling ten dollars. Officer Dominguez spoke to the neighbor and obtained a description of the suspect. A search of the immediate area revealed negative results. No fingerprints were found.   Report number 120688114

6:45am       300 Blk Molimo            Burglary
Officer Bernard responded to a burglary call on the 300 block of Molimo Drive. He met with the resident who had just come home and found the home’s front door damaged and completely off its frame. The resident was very concerned and did not know if whoever forced entry was still inside. Officer Bernard and Officer Duncan completed a walkthrough and found no one inside. The homeowner arrived moments later and found a laptop and numerous jewelry pieces missing. CSI was then called out to the scene. Report number 120687003

10:00am     200 Blk Oneida             Theft
Police Service Aide Zabarte took a counter report regarding a theft. He spoke to the victim who works as a teacher’s aide at a nearby school. The victim placed her purse inside a book cabinet, which had no lock, located inside a classroom. She later returned and found her wallet and numerous credit cards and I.D’s missing from inside her purse. Report number 120683192

10:00am     Bosworth/Diamond      Theft
Officer Lee took a theft report at Ingleside Station. The victim stated she was on MUNI and was standing at the back of a crowded bus. The bus then pulled into a bus stop to let people off. She said a subject was standing next to her and she noticed the subject put what appeared to be her wallet inside his left front pocket. She immediately looked in her purse and saw her wallet missing. She yelled to the bus driver but did not see what direction the subject ran off too. A copy of the video inside the bus is currently being obtained. Report number 120685875

12:00pm     50 Phelan                      Theft
Officer Wong, of the City College Campus Police, took a report of a bicycle theft. He spoke to the victim who secured her bike to a bicycle rack inside the campus. She then returned a few hours later and found her bicycle to have been stolen. The victim provided a picture of her bicycle along with the serial number. Report number 120686588

1:10pm       Unit Blk Tucker            Trespassing
Officer Bernard responded to a call of an attempted burglary. He met with the victim who stated he was inside his home when he heard the sound of his exterior security gate being tampered with. He opened his front door to investigate and observed a subject with his arm reaching through the gate trying to unlock the locking mechanism. The subject pulled his arm back and ran down the front steps fleeing the scene. The victim ran after the subject but lost him in the area. The subject never gained entry into the home and no damage was caused to the gate.

1:30pm       200 Blk Brazil               Burglary
Police Service Aide Zabarate took a burglary report at Ingleside station. The victim advised him that she left her home in good condition and purposely left the rear door to the home open.  The victim later returned and discovered her laptop and miscellaneous items missing from inside the home. The victim believes someone accessed the home by jumping over the fence and gained entry into the open back door. No other items were stolen and no damage to the home was done.

5:00pm       500 Blk Teresita            Burglary
Officer Leong and Officer Kerlegan responded to the 500 block of Teresita Avenue to conduct a premise check. Upon arrival, they met with a real estate agent who is currently selling the property. He arrived this evening and found the front door of the premise open. He said he showed the house on 08/26/12 and left the house locked and secured before leaving. The officers conducted a walk through and found no one inside but did find the for sale flyers torn to pieces in the kitchen and a damaged water pipe that was leaking water in the basement. No signs of forced entry were found outside the exterior of the home. The agent believes that another real estate agent may have forgotten to lock the front door when they left. Nothing had been stolen from inside the home. Report number 120687495

6:45pm       Mission/Geneva            Theft
Officer Archilla and Officer Morse responded to the area on a robbery call. They met with the victim who was a passenger on the MUNI 29 line. The victim stated once the bus pulled into the bus stop at Mission and Geneva, she proceeded to get off the bus through the rear exit doors. An unknown subject attempted to board the bus at the same time through the rear door, blocking the victim from getting off the bus. A second unknown subject approached her from the side and snatched the White Iphone 4S from her right hand. Both subjects then fled the scene running southbound on Mission Street. Numerous Ingleside units responded and searched the area and were unable to locate the subjects. Report number 120687053

9:00pm       Ocean/Howth                Pickpocket
Officer Carrasco and Officer Dominguez responded to the area regarding a robbery call. The victim advised the officers that she was waiting for the bus near Ocean and Howth Street. Moments later, she noticed a subject approach the same bus stop. The victim stated she was using her Iphone at the time, but became weary of his presence, so she put her cell phone in her jacket pocket. Once the bus was arriving, she stood up to wait for the approaching bus. A few seconds later, she felt something brush up against her, so she immediately reacted, and grabbed her pocket where she had just put her phone in. She noticed that her phone was missing, but it was too late, as the subject seen earlier was now running away from the scene. She arrived home and called the police. Report number 120687752

11:30pm     100 Blk Mangels           Auto Boost
The victim arrived at Ingleside Station to report a vehicle theft. He spoke to Police Service Aide Zabarte and told him that he had parked and locked his vehicle in good condition at Mangels and Baden Streets. He returned the next day and noticed that someone had shattered his right rear passenger side window. The victim inspected his vehicle and found money and some personal checks missing. No other items were stolen and no other visible damage to the vehicle was seen.

Arrests:

0:12am       200 Blk Italy                 Warrant
Officer Pereira and Cassinelli were on patrol looking for a vehicle involved in a shooting that had occurred in the Taraval district.  The officers spotted a vehicle matching the description from the incident.  The officers pulled the vehicle over using great caution, and detained three occupants.  All suspects were identified pending further investigation.  Two were released from the scene and the third was taken into custody after a record check revealed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.  Report number 120684924

12:05pm     100 Blk Brookdale       Disturbing the Peace
Officers Trail, Peregoy and Barajas responded to the report of a physical fight.  One of the subjects involved was reportedly in possession of a gun.  Officers Tam and Ng responded as well, and had to physically pull the two suspects away from each other in order to stop the fight.  The officers witnessed the suspects physically assault each other.  Two subjects who witnessed the incident intervened verbally as well, and encouraged the two suspects to fight.  The officers had prior police contact with both subjects, and they were admonished for their actions.  Both suspects were arrested for disturbing the peace, and were released pending their court date.  Report number 120682990

4:00pm       50 Phelan                      Warrant
SFCCPD Officer Burlyga was on patrol when he spotted a suspect in an area where subjects commonly gather to smoke marijuana.  As the officer approached, he noticed the suspect was holding a glass pipe and exhaled smoke from his mouth.  The officer asked the suspect if he was smoking marijuana, and he admitted that he was.  The suspect also admitted to possessing more marijuana in his bag, and that he did not have a medical marijuana card.  A records check of the suspect revealed that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.  The officer advised the suspect on smoking and arrested him for the warrant.  Report number 120683647

4:20pm       Unit Blk Ocean             Fraud
Officer Hornstein was dispatched to a report of a fraud in progress.  The officer arrived and contacted the suspect, who was standing at a teller.  The suspect appeared to be anxious and was sweating profusely.  The teller told the officers that she became suspicious of the check because previous fraudulent checks had been written on the same account.  The officers contacted the issuer of the check, who confirmed the check to be missing and fraudulent.  The officers took the suspect into custody and seized the check to be booked as evidence. 

While in custody, the suspect complained of medical issues and was transported to the hospital.  The booking charges were approved for the suspect to be booked after medical clearance.  Report number 120683681

A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Cato that he was standing in a MUNI shelter area when two males approached him, brandished a handgun and told him to “Give them everything.”  The victim said he was scared and allowed the suspects to rummage through his pockets.  The suspects emptied his pockets and fled down San Jose.  The victim said he was not injured and refused medical assistance.  He said he would not be able to identify the suspects if he saw them again.  Report number 120683562

4:30am       1000 Blk Tompkins      Robbery
Officers Archilla and Chan were dispatched to a robbery with a gun.  The victim was Spanish speaking and Officer Archilla assisted in the translation.  The victim said she was standing in front of her car when she was approached by three males who simulated a gun and told her, “Give me everything you got.”  The victim stood still and the suspects emptied her pockets.  They then fled in an unknown direction.  She did not know if she would be able to identify the suspects.  Report number 120684128

5:06am       Bosworth/I-280             Robbery
Officer Crispin was sent to a robbery with a gun near the Glen Park BART Station.  The victim said he was walking down Bosworth when he felt someone following him.  Two males then stopped him, pointed a handgun at his face, racked the slide and told him, “Give me everything.”  The victim was placed on his knees and the suspects emptied his pockets.  They then pushed him onto the ground and fled down Bosworth.  The victim said he might be able to identify the suspect with the gun if he saw him again.  The victim was not injured.  Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspects and were unable to locate any surveillance cameras nearby.  Report number 120682053

SFCCPD Officer Hakes was dispatched to a burglary.  The reportee stated that when he tried to open the door to the office he noticed the locking mechanism was loose.  He entered the office and found several items missing.  There was no suspect information.  Report number 120682564

12:30pm     Unit Blk Stoneyford     Burglary
Officers Rouede and Gonzalez responded to an attempted burglary.  The victim stated that he arrived home to find the lock to the gate which enters the home area damaged.  The victim had repaired the lock prior to calling the police, but wanted the incident documented.  He said no entry was made and no items were missing.  Report number 120684322

SFCCPD Officer Chang was sent to investigate a theft.  He met with the victim who said that he plugged his cellular phone into the wall to charge it and left the room for a few minutes.  When he returned, the cellular phone and adapter were missing.  He was unable to provide any further information.  Report number 120669603

Officers Casinelli and Chan responded to a theft call.  They met with the victim who told them that she left her bicycle unsecured in an unlocked common hallway and when she returned the bicycle was missing.  She was unable to provide any further information.  Report number 120681293

8:30am       5200 Blk Mission          Theft
A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Heckenberg that she brought her purse to work and placed it under her desk area.  She was ready to leave work and when she went to grab her purse, it was gone.  She told the officers she didn’t know who might have taken the purse and there were no surveillance cameras in this particular office.  Report number 120677446

6:00pm       900 Blk Cayuga            Burglary
Officers Shugars and Paris were sent to investigate a burglary.  The victim advised that he was sleeping when he heard his neighbor banging on his door.  The neighbor told him that someone was inside of his garage and taking his bicycle.  The victim went downstairs and noticed damage to the garage door lock and his bicycle missing.  There was no other sign of forced entry and CSI was not notified due to the lack of physical evidence.  Report number 120675876

8:45pm       4500Blk Mission           Robbery
Officers Rouede and Pereira and several other Ingleside officers responded to the call of a robbery with a gun.  The manager of the establishment advised that several men came inside, ordered food and began lingering around.  One of the men went to the back of the room and another walked around the counter to the cash register.  He brandished a gun at the employee and told her to open the register.  The employee complied and all employees were escorted to the rear of the business where the safe was.  They were asked to open the safe but none of them had the combination.  After emptying the register, all men left the area in an unknown direction.  None of the employees were injured.  The officers contacted CSI who responded to the scene and dusted for any latent fingerprint evidence.  The officers ordered copies of any video surveillance video in the area.  Report number 120681447

8:54pm       4900 Blk Mission          Counterfeit
Officers Dilag and Khan were dispatched to investigate counterfeit currency.  They met with the store cashier who told them that a suspect had attempted to purchase items with dollar bills whose currency felt strange.  After confirming with the manager that the items were counterfeit they called the police.  The suspect fled in an unknown direction after suspecting that the employees noticed the money wasn’t real.  The employees were able to retrieve the video footage for the officers and pointed to the suspect in the video.  Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for her.  The United States Secret Service was advised of the incident and the counterfeit bills were booked into evidence.  Report number 120680972

Arrests:

11:45pm     1800 Blk Sunnydale     Battery
Officer Apodaca and Officer Gabriel responded to the 1800 block of Sunnydale Avenue regarding a call involving a physical altercation. The officers arrived and met with Officers Antonian  and Quintero who were already on scene. The officers spoke with the victim who stated she was allowing a friend of hers to stay at her residence, while that friend was able to get back on her feet and find a place to live. The victim left her house late in the night, but returned half an hour later. She entered her residence and found her friend and another unknown subject sitting in the living room and heavily intoxicated. A verbal argument erupted and both intoxicated subjects attacked the victim. While talking with the victim, one of the two subjects involved was seen leaving the residence. The subject was immediately detained, while the investigation continued. The officers on scene searched the residence but were unable to locate the second subject. The subject detained was transported to Ingleside Station and later cited for the battery and released. Medics responded and attended to the victim’s injuries. Report number 120676448

Officer Naval responded to the unit block of Sequoia regarding a burglary call. He spoke to the victim who had left her house locked and secured early in the morning. She returned a few hours later and found the door next to the garage open. The victim entered her home and noticed that the rear door was also open. The victim found forced entry had been made through the rear door. She walked through the home and found her flat panel television and numerous jewelry pieces missing. Pictures of the scene were taken for evidence.  Report number 120675161

9:09am       800 Blk Faxon              Burglary
Officer Conceicao and Officer Araujo met with a victim of an attempted burglary. The victim stated he was inside his home at the time of the incident. The victim was in his living room, when he observed an unknown subject standing across the street in front of a driveway. The victim also observed a strange vehicle parked in front of that same driveway. The victim stated he did not recognize the vehicle from the neighborhood. He then heard what sounded like wood breaking coming from his kitchen area. The victim went to investigate and found the kitchen door to have been forced open, possibly kicked in, with no one standing there. He then went back to his living room and saw the same subject run past the side of his house and down the street. The vehicle drove down the street behind the subject. A search of the area was conducted for both the subject and the vehicle with negative results. Report number 120674088

2:25pm       5200 Blk Mission          Battery
Officer Naval responded to the 5200 block of Mission Street regarding a call of a physical altercation inside a nail salon. Officers Padilla and Sullivan responded to assist and located both parties involved, one of whom had visible scratch marks to her face. During the investigation, it was revealed that both parties knew each other and had an ongoing dispute between the both of them. Both parties refused to press charges against each other and refused further police assistance. A report was generated for documentation purposes. Report number 120675412

4:00pm       Coso/Mirabel                Theft
Officer Rueca and Officer Elton responded to the area on a call regarding a theft from a vehicle. They spoke to the victim who stated he parked his Toyota truck on the corner of Coso and Mirabel Street at approximately 4:00 P.M the day before. He started his vehicle today in the morning and noticed that the engine sounded louder than normal, as if it had no muffler. The victim stepped out of his vehicle and checked underneath, only to find out that someone had taken his catalytic converter from underneath his vehicle. No witnesses were located and no suspect(s) were seen in and around the vehicle. Report number 120677383

7:00pm       5900 Blk Mission          Shoplifting
Officer Tam responded to a cell phone store, located on the 5900 block Mission Street, regarding a theft. Officer Tam spoke with the store employee, who stated a known subject from the neighborhood came into the store and asked to see an Iphone from inside the display case. The employee took out the new Iphone and set it on the counter. The subject grabbed the phone and ran out of the store and fled the scene on foot. The store employee gave chase for a few blocks, but lost him in the area. The employee was told to contact the police if the subject returned.  Report number 120675600

6:00pm       800 Blk Edinburgh      Vandalism
A victim came to Ingleside Station to report a vandalism to her vehicle. She stated she parked her new car on the 800 block of Edinburgh Street, on 08/23/2012, at approximately 6:00 P.M.  She then returned to her vehicle the next day and saw that both the right rear and left rear tires were flat, possibly slashed. The victim also noticed a large scratch on the back left door of the vehicle. The victim had no idea who could have caused damage to her new vehicle. Report number 120674191

6:15pm       3700 Blk Mission          Weapons
Officer Chan and Officer Kerlegan responded to the 3700 block of Mission Street on a report of a subject with a gun. Several Ingleside units responded and were directed to the area the subject was last seen headed off too. Officer Chan spoke to the victim, who stated he was inside a bar having a drink when an unknown subject walked up behind him and pat him on the back. The victim turned around and told the subject that he did not know him. The unknown subject became angry and pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, inserted a loaded magazine and threatened the victim. Fearing for his life, the victim went outside to call for the police. The unknown subject left on foot, last seen headed down Park. A search of the area revealed negative results. 7:00pm       1800 Blk Sunnydale     Vandalism
Officer Suitan and Officer Fung responded to a vandalism and theft report on the 1800 block of Sunnydale. They met with the resident/victim who stated she had an argument with a friend who was staying with her at her residence. The victim decided to leave for a couple days to let things settle down. When the victim returned, she found her bedroom television and DVD player missing and her living room television vandalized. The friend could not be located at this time.  Photos of the vandalism were taken at the scene. Report number 120680922

7:00pm       100 Blk Peru                 Theft
Officer Conceicao spoke to a victim who came to Ingleside station to report a theft from a vehicle. The victim parked his locked and secured vehicle in front of his house. He returned to his vehicle the next day and found the right rear window shattered. He searched the interior and found a pair of sunglasses to be the only item missing from his vehicle. The victim could not provide additional information as to who broke into his vehicle. Report number 120677678

9:30pm       1600 Blk Dolores          Theft
Officer Curry and Officer Sanchez responded to a call of an attempted theft from a vehicle. They met with the victim who stated she parked her vehicle inside the building garage, which she shares with other tenants. She came downstairs on, 08/24/2012, at approximately 6:48 AM and saw that the side garage door was open. She walked to her vehicle and found the right rear passenger window shattered. The victim inventoried her vehicle and found nothing missing. The vehicle was not ransacked. Report Number 120673789

Arrests:

4:01am       Bayshore/Marin            Warrant
Officers Padilla and Seavey were on patrol when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed with expired registration and a failed tail lamp.  The officers affected a traffic stop and a record check revealed the driver’s license was suspended.  There were numerous other occupants in the vehicle.  Two of the occupants in the vehicle had active warrants and they were taken into custody.  The driver was cited for driving on a suspended license and released.  Report Number 120678074

Officers Rouede and Pereira were sent to investigate a battery.  They met with the victim who told them that he was walking down the street when suddenly a male approached him, slapped him without provocation, and said, “Go ahead.  Call the police.”  The victim provided a description of the suspect and officers detained a male matching the description.  A cold show was performed where the victim positively identified the suspect as the one who slapped him.  The victim signed a citizen’s arrest and the suspect was taken into custody.  A record check revealed an outstanding warrant and the suspect was therefore booked at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120678121

6:45pm       Geneva/Athens              Agg. Assault
Officers Chan and Archilla were on patrol when they observed a suspicious male and his companion jaywalking.  The officers exited their vehicle and the suspects began running.  One of the suspects threw a black backpack he was carrying.  The officers gave chase and were able to catch up and detain the suspects. 

One of the suspects admitted that the backpack was his and began resisting with the officers who were trying to handcuff him.  After a short struggle, the officers were able to handcuff him.  The other suspect was cooperative.  A record check revealed no warrants for either suspect.  One of the suspects was cited for the traffic violation and released.

The other suspect remained at the scene.  A search of his backpack located a plastic baggy containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.  An arrest search located a stun gun on his person.  He was transported to Ingleside station and booked for possession of narcotics and the stun gun.  Report Number 120678507

Officers Sullivan and Padilla responded to a theft.  The victim advised she was on a MUNI bus checking directions on her cellular phone when a male grabbed the phone from her, exited the bus and fled with another male down San Bruno.  She provided a description of the suspects and officers canvassed the area to no avail.  The victim was not injured and refused medical assistance.  The officers contacted MUNI dispatch and requested a copy of the video surveillance tape.  Report number 120677844

3:30pm       Mansell/John Shelley    Auto Boost
Officers Fung and Suguitan were dispatched to an auto boost.  They met with the victim who advised that he locked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found a window smashed and several items missing.  Witnesses in the area provided possible suspect descriptions and said the suspects fled in a vehicle.  Officers searched the area for the suspects and vehicle but were unsuccessful in locating either.  Report number 120677907

Officer Ma was sent to take a report theft of bicycles.  The victim stated that he left several bicycles unlocked in the rear of his trailer and when he returned found several bicycles missing.  He was unable to provide any further information.  Report number 120679323

Officers Pedersen and Hom responded to an arson of a vehicle.  They met with the SFFD who advised they needed a report filed for the suspicious fire.  The officers located the owner of the vehicle who stated that he locked and secured it and later heard a loud noise.  He came outside and noticed the vehicle was on fire.  Report number 120679044

7:15am       San Jose/Capistrano     Battery
Civilian Police Service Aide Heckenberg-Tognozzi was on station duty when a victim came in to report an attempted battery. The victim was walking towards his home when a he noticed a known suspect looking for him. The suspect then got out of his car and took two swings at the victim but missed. The victim then retaliated by swinging his lunch bag. The victim walked away saying “it’s not over”. Neither party was injured during the incident. Report number 120670854

12:50pm     Monterey/Plymouth      Robbery
Officers Fung and Suguitan responded to call regarding a strong arm robbery. The victim informed the officers that she was standing at the bus stop looking at her phone, when an unknown suspect approached her and grabbed the phone from her hands. The victim stated she tried to hold on to it, but the suspect was too strong for her. The suspect than ran from the scene with the cell phone in hand. The victim later found out that a second suspect robbed another victim approximately 20 feet from the incident. The officers broadcast a description of the suspects, and searched the area with negative results. The victim had no visible injuries and refused medical attention. The victim informed the officers that she would recognize the suspects if she saw them again. The victim also stated that a Muni bus might have approached the intersection as the suspects ran across the street. The victim was given a Victim of Violent Crime form and a SFPD Follow Up form. The officers notified the SFMTA video surveillance team of the incident and the possible footage. Report number 120671642

1:35pm       Monterey/Plymouth     Theft
Officer Frisk responded to a report of a robbery. The victim informed the officer that she was waiting at the bus stop when she saw two suspects yelling at each other as they walked back and forth across the street. One suspect climbed into a yard and hid behind a wall, as the second suspect began to approach another victim who was also at the bus stop. The victim said all of a sudden the first suspect jumped down from the yard and grabbed the purse that was on her shoulder. The second victim then yelled out “those guys took my phone, did they take your purse”. A Good Samaritan who was at a nearby stop sign stopped, and let the victim use her phone to call the police and offered to drive them home. Both the Good Samaritan and the victim informed the officer that they would be able to identify the suspects if they saw them again. Report number 120671705

2:00pm       100 blk Appleton      Threats
Civilian Police Service Aide Flynn was working station duty when a victim came in to file a report of a threat. The victim stated that she approached the suspects’ doorstep for an installation of a heating unit. The suspect than got snappy with the victim and stated “if you knock on my door I’ll have to do you bodily harm. If you step on my step I will knock you out.” The victim walked away and informed the CPSA that she is fearful that the suspect will carry out her threat. The victim said she wanted the incident documented incase anything was to happen to her. The victim was given a Follow Up form, Victim of Violent Crime Card, a Marsy’s Resource Card and the procedure on obtaining a copy of the report. Report number 120672480
