Arrests:

6:19pm       Daly City                                 Search Warrant
Ingleside Sergeant Lau and Officer Der executed a search warrant in Daly City of a car that was used in a particularly brazen hot prowl burglary involving a home on Teddy Avenue. The victim spotted the masked suspects and the getaway car attempting to leave the premises and gave a good description to responding officers. The officers arrested the driver of the BMW and another suspected burglar trying to flee a nearby address. On this day the officers searched the burglar’s car and found gloves possibly worn during the burglary along with wallets, ID’s, and other items connecting the suspects to the crime. All the evidence was added to the case file for the incident. Report number: 170809376

8:46pm       100 Blk. Justin                         Hit & Run
The old expression, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, helped Ingleside officers release an innocent man and identify the real suspect in a hit & run. Ingleside Officers Burke, Espinoza, and other units responded to the 100 block of Justin after several witnesses reported the driver of a Toyota SUV collided with several parked cars. After the collision, the driver and his passenger, fled the scene. One witness followed what he said was the driver to the intersection of Benton and Genebern Way where he was arrested. Another witness also claimed the arrestee was the hit & run driver. The officers placed him in custody. A few hours later, Ingleside Sgt. Ly went to an address of a home near the scene of the accident. A woman told the Sgt. that she had video of the accident and it clearly showed the arrestee was not the driver but the passenger. He was immediately released and the investigators are now looking for the driver. Report number: 170870640

9:55pm       Rutland & Raymond              Evading Arrest
A car traveling without a front license plate caught the attention of Ingleside Officers Sherry and Trumpp. The car was traveling southbound on Alpha Street, approaching Leland, when the officers turned on their overhead lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle. But, instead of stopping, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, driving through stop signs, and on the wrong side of the street into oncoming traffic. Sherry and Trumpp, in consideration of public safety, terminated their chase and notified dispatch of the license of the fleeing vehicle. Shortly after the broadcast, Sgt. Fegan went on the air to say he had stopped the fleeing driver in the 900 block of Moscow. He was driving without an operators permit and was placed in custody and booked for evading arrest and other crimes. Report number: 170870719

Two suspects got out, one of punched the victim in the face, while the other took the victim’s backpack and rifled through his wallet taking the victim’s wallet, cellphone, and other valuables. Arrests:

12:20pm     200 Blk. Cambridge           Threats/Possession of Firearm
A man threatening motorists and pedestrians, possibly with a weapon, prompted dispatch to send Ingleside Officers Williams and Camarra to investigate. While in route, the officers spotted the suspect walking in the 200 block of Cambridge. He was walking with one hand inside his shirt, a behavior that may mean he was hiding a weapon. Williams and Camarra ordered the suspect to stop. But he didn’t stop. Instead he walked a short distance and quickly reached into his shirt and placed an unknown object into a garbage can. The officers quickly placed him custody and searched the garbage can where they found a stolen firearm. A computer check revealed the suspect was on federal probation for a weapons violation and the gun was stolen from a Menlo Park address. Several witnesses and victims identified the suspect as the person who threatened to kill or otherwise harm them using a gun. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for terrorist threats and firearms charges. Report number: 170849413

Arrests:

11:45am     Moscow & France                           Robbery
Ingleside Officers Cvetovac and Lim were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery in Crocker-Amazon Park. When they arrived they found a visibly upset and crying victim who told the officers she was sitting on a bench when two unknown men approached her. One of the men had a black gun in his right hand and pointed it at her head. Fearing for her safety, the victim surrendered her purse to the suspects who then ran out of the park north on Moscow Street. Ingleside Officer Cvetovac interviewed a witness who told him she was driving north on Moscow when she noticed two men fleeing the dugout area of the park. She said she also noticed the victim screaming and crying. The witness realized the crying woman was a crime victim and she followed the suspects as they ran north on Moscow. The witness watched as the suspects got into a grey four door sedan that was double parked in the 600 block of Moscow. The vehicle then fled north and the witness lost it near the intersection of Moscow and Avalon. Meanwhile a Muni driver called dispatch and said she also witnessed the incident and provided a description of the silver  Ford Crown Victoria with paper dealer plates, which fled north on Moscow. The description of the car was put out in a city wide broadcast. Soon thereafter a Mission Station officer spotted the suspect vehicle at 7th and Harrison Streets. Bayview, Mission, and Southern Station officers converged on the scene and detained the three occupants. Items stolen from the robbery were found inside the car. One suspect had a Glock pistol in his waistband. The Muni driver and the victim positively identified the car and the occupants as the men who robbed her. The suspects, along with the woman driver, were arrested and booked for robbery. Report number: 170845897

Serious Incidents:

10:00am     Bernal Heights & Anderson       Theft
Ingleside Officers Chan and Endo were driving in the area of Cortland and Ellsworth Streets when they spotted a silver Infiniti coupe with no front license plate and a dealer paper plate on the back. The officers followed the Infiniti because thieves and other criminals often use paper plates to avoid detection and identification. The Infiniti was spotted by other officers during the past week driving around Bernal Heights possibly casing parked cars. Chan and Endo turned on their emergency lights and siren and attempted to stop the Infinity. But instead of stopping, the driver took off at a high rate of speed blowing through stop signs at several intersections. The officers turned off their emergency lights and siren and stopped the pursuit in the interest of public safety. They then went to the dog park near Bernal Heights Avenue and were approached by a woman who said her car was broken into a short time before and laptop, cell phone, debit card, and driver’s license, all within a backpack, was missing. Report number: 170845502
