SFPD and San Francisco Planning are working with the operators of the radio tower at the top of Bernal Hill to make security (e.g. fencing upgrades and cameras) and landscaping improvements. This tower hosts antennas for both commercial systems as well as those used for communications by first responders (police and firefighters). The improvements are currently underway by American Tower. The lighting will also be adjusted and placed on a motion-sensor.

We would welcome your help in being an extra set of eyes and ears to discourage vandalism or potential disruption to crucial police and fire communications. If you see something suspicious, please call police dispatch at (415) 553-0123 or in an emergency call (415) 553-8090.

Ingleside Officers Padilla and Barajas were on routine patrol when they spotted a man which they’ve dealt with before driving by in an older Dodge pickup truck. The officers tailed the suspect while running the truck’s license plate. Dispatch informed the officers that the truck was stolen from an address in San Francisco. Padilla and Barajas activated their emergency lights and siren and pulled the suspect over. He was placed into custody and dispatch advised the officers that the suspect was on felony probation for possession of a firearm and narcotics. His driver’s license was also suspended. The vehicle was towed and the suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property and parole violation. Report number: 150930634

A robber surprised a gas station attendant while the attendant was counting cash in the station’s office. The victim told Ingleside Officers Franceschi, Glenn, and Scott that the suspect placed his arm around the man’s neck from behind and took the cash then walked the employee to the front of the station and took more money from the cash register before escaping in an unknown direction. 4:10pm       Mission/Sickles                      Attempted Robbery
A sixteen year old student and her mother walked into Ingleside Station to report an attempted robbery. The student told Ingleside Officer Cattaneo that she was riding a #14 MUNI bus southbound on Mission Street sitting in a seat near the driver when another passenger, sitting across from her, tried to get her attention. The young woman ignored the other passenger’s pleadings until he got up and sat next to her and tapped her knee. The woman became frightened and called a friend to meet her at the Geneva and Mission bus stop. The suspect became angry and pulled up his shirt revealing an automatic pistol, pulled the gun from his waistband, and placed it against her body, pointing it at her waist and warned her that she and the person she was talking to on the phone were in danger of being shot. The young woman pulled the stop cord and hurried off the bus at Geneva and Mission and the suspect, and an accomplice, stayed on the bus as it pulled away. Report number: 150924609

Two men walking home from the bus stop at Arleta and Bayshore noticed to other men standing across the street in a doorway. The two victims told Ingleside Officers Kikuchi and Cattaneo that the two men began following them. Soon thereafter, one of the suspects, now wearing a mask and holding a semi-automatic weapon, approached and the two victims, fearing for their lives, ran away to their nearby home. When they reached the front of their residence, neither suspect was in sight. Report number: 150924803

Two suspects, a man and a woman, approached the victim, showed a knife, and demanded his property. The victim told Ingleside Officers Villalozano and Snadow that he surrendered his debit card, credit card, and about $120 in cash to the suspects who ran away northbound on Mission Street.  Officers Adams and Lee responded to a robbery call on the 700 block of Alemany Boulevard. When they arrived they found a victim who appeared to be frightened and bruised. The victim told the officers that as she was walking to the bus stop, a car pulled up next to her and a male exited the passenger side. The suspect approached the victim and tried to grab her purse. The victim said she refused to give up her purse and put up a struggle. As the suspect was struggling to grab her purse, he hit her on the chest and jumped back in the vehicle. The vehicle fled the area and the suspect got away empty handed. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment and given follow up information. Report number: 150919525

1:35pm       800 Blk Miramar          Battery on Police Officer
Several Ingleside units respond to a call of a female subject casing houses near the 800 block of Miramar Avenue. Officers Campos and Thompson along with the other units arrived on scene and detained the subject. The suspect, trying to hide her identity, gave the officers false information. While searching her, she struck one of the officers in the chest. The suspect was placed under arrest for the battery and transported to Ingleside for processing. Report number: 150917535

While on patrol, Officer Wells and Tweedy effected a traffic stop of a vehicle, whose driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver gave the officers false information and told them that she did not have any form of ID on her. As Officer Tweedy seized the driver’s keys, she was able to find an identification card in the pouch hanging from the keychain, and confirmed the driver’s identity. The driver was arrested and the officers checked to see if she had active warrants. Upon confirmation of no outstanding warrants, the driver was cited and released. Report number: 150918248

Officers Lucia and Macaulay responded to a call regarding a robbery. When they arrived at the scene, the victim told them that as he was walking, a male approached him and asked to borrow his phone. A witness, while at work, heard a loud noise and saw a man attempting to break into a business across the street. The witness called police and Ingleside Officers Dilag and Seaborn arrived and talked to the witness who identified the suspect as the man standing at the corner of Geneva and Mission. The officers arrested the suspect who still had items taken from the burglary in his backpack. The owner of the burglarized business also provided officers with video of the suspect breaking into his store. The suspect, who is on probation for a previous burglary and is wanted for several traffic warrants, was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary. Report number: 150912789

3:45am       Unit Blk Admiral                  Vehicle Tampering
A couple, while in their home, heard a loud crash in front of their house. They looked outside and saw a man inside their truck parked in front of their home. The passenger window was broken and the burglary suspect was inside rummaging through the trucks contents. The couple yelled at the suspect, who backed out of the vehicle saying, “sorry, sorry”, and started walking away. The couple called police and Ingleside Officers Sandoval and Hermosura arrived a short time later. The officers began to search for the suspect who was quickly apprehended a short distance away. It was determined that nothing was taken from the truck during the break-in. He was taken to Ingleside Station and cited for vehicle tampering before being released. Report number: 150912977

12:30pm     Geneva/Mission                      Theft
A woman listening to music on her iPhone was brutally assaulted by a thief. Witnesses told Ingleside Officers Lim and Archilla that the victim was sitting on a MUNI bus traveling on Mission Street when the bus stopped at Geneva. The suspect, who was sitting behind the victim, got up and took the victim’s iPhone and ear buds from her hands and ran off the bus. The victim chased the suspect for a short distance finally catching up to him after he stopped to retrieve a shoe. She swung her backpack at the suspect who ducked. He then punched her in the side of the face knocking her unconscious to the ground. Witnesses saw the altercation and tackled the suspect in front of a nearby service station. Ingleside Officers Lim, Morrow, and Archilla arrived and placed the suspect in custody. He was booked for theft and assault. The victim was treated at U.C. Hospital for her injuries.
