Ingleside Officers Conefrey, Jones and Sgt. Smith were standing in the street behind an ambulance that had responded to a medical emergency. The ambulance had its emergency lights on and was double parked in front of a residence. All of a sudden Sgt. Smith yelled, “Watch out”. Officer Jones turned around and noticed an older Toyota Camry speeding toward the group of police officers at a high rate of speed. The officers quickly ran out of the way and one officer started pointing his flashlight towards the Toyota driver. Officer Jones yelled “Stop” and the driver slammed on the brakes narrowly stopping before colliding with the ambulance. The officers walked up to the side of the car and asked the driver to roll down his window. When he did, the officers could smell the strong odor of marijuana. The driver’s eyes appeared blood shot. His passenger was smoking a marijuana cigarette. The driver was asked to exit the car and perform a series of roadside tests. He failed them all. 12:20pm     Schwerin/Garrison                 Stolen Vehicle
A Black BMW doing “donuts” in the area of Schwerin and Garrison Street prompted a witness to call the police. Officers Rand and Jackson responded to the area and found the skid marks on the street, but no vehicle. They continued their search and a short distance away found the Black BMW with a blown tire. Next to the vehicle they found the driver trying to change the tire. The officers spoke with the young man who said, “I just bought this car the other day from some guy”. The officers asked for his driver’s license and vehicle paperwork, but he had none to give. The officers then ran the license plates and discovered the vehicle had been stolen out of Palo Alto a week before. The subject was placed under arrest and charged accordingly. Report Number: 150237656

5:30pm       1800 Blk Sunnydale               Firearm/Warrant Arrest
Officers Seavey, Padilla and Barajas happened to be driving through the Sunnydale Housing Development when they noticed a subject, whom they knew from prior contacts and to be on probation, driving in the opposite direction. They quickly turned around and caught up to the Blue Honda, which had now parked on the 1800 block of Sunnydale Avenue. As they approached the vehicle they noticed that the rear female passenger was quick to get out of the car and started to walk away. She was immediately detained along with the two male occupants that were still inside the car. The two male subjects provided the officers with their identifications, but the female kept stalling and provided a fake name. After a thorough investigation, the officers finally discovered the female’s true identity and discovered she had a warrant for her arrest. The officers searched the female and found she had a fully loaded .32 caliber revolver hidden inside her purse.  The two male subjects were released and the female suspect taken into custody. She was ultimately charged with carrying a concealed weapon and booked on the outstanding warrant. Report Number: 150238773

Arrests:

7:20am       Bernal Heights/Anderson        Vandalism
The third time was not a charm for two young lovers who wanted to park in a spot with a view of the City. The man and woman decided to consummate their feelings by the Bernal Heights radio tower. However, the road to the tower is protected by a gate thwarting their amorous plans, but only for a short minute. The lovers decided that no gate was going to prevent a wonderful morning so the two, in their Honda Civic, rammed the gate to gain entrance. But the gate didn’t break. So, they backed up and hit the gate a second time and again the gate held tight. The third time, they backed up even farther, and successfully broke open the gate, before speeding up the access road to the top of the hill. All the noise alerted nearby residents and dog walkers who promptly called police. Ingleside Officers Wong and Chang responded and found the couple, and their severely damaged Honda, parked near the radio towers. Both were put in custody and the driver, who didn’t have a valid California license or insurance, was booked for trespassing, vandalism, malicious mischief, and other charges. Report number: 150233507

9:50pm       Ocean/Brighton                          D.U.I
Ingleside Officers Lucia and Hackard were on routine patrol when they noticed the driver of a Chevy pickup truck straddling two lanes of traffic. They followed the vehicle and watched as the driver collide with a Muni barricade, stop, and then backup before going forward and driving up onto a Muni passenger island. The officers activated their emergency lights and siren and pulled the driver over. When the motorist rolled down his window, the officers could smell the strong odor of alcohol. The driver was removed from the vehicle and was unable to stand without falling. He was placed in the back of a patrol car and observed for awhile before being administered a breath alcohol test. The results showed a blood alcohol level almost three times higher than the allowable legal limit. The suspect was transported to the County Jail and booked for D.U.I and several vehicle code violations. Report number: 150232775

Serious Incidents:

4:52am       Cayuga/Onondaga                 Robbery
A man walking down the street was the victim of a violent robbery. The victim told Ingleside Officers Hoge and Wells that while walking westbound on Onondaga, near the intersection of Cayuga, he was approached from behind by a suspect wearing a hoodie and holding a gun. The suspect hit him three or four times over the head with the butt of the gun before taking his backpack. After removing the backpack, the suspect put the gun to the head of the victim and said, “give me everything or I’m going to shoot you”. In fear for his life, the victim handed over his wallet and the suspect, still holding a gun to the victim’s head, told him to run away or he would shoot him right there. The victim complied and the suspect escaped in an unknown direction. The loss was the backpack, identification, credit and debit cards, and miscellaneous clothing. Report number: 150233369
