Arrests:
12:35pm Trumbull/Mission Drugs/Resisting &
Delaying
Officers Calupad and Watts were on patrol when they spotted
a White Ford Taurus driving near Trumbull and Craut Street with its headlights
off. They got behind the vehicle and conducted a computer check on the license
plate, which showed it had an expired registration as well. The duo pulled the
vehicle over with the intention of issuing a citation. When they spoke with the
driver and his passenger they immediately noticed a distinct smell of marijuana
emanating from the vehicle. The officers decided to search the occupants and
the vehicle itself, so they pulled the driver and the passenger out of the
vehicle. As the passenger stepped out he thought it would be a good idea to run
from the officers. Luckily, Officer Ferronato had just arrived and detained the
driver, while Officers Calupad and Watts went after the passenger. After a
brief foot chase, the officers ran the passenger down and took him into
custody. They soon found out why the passenger ran. The passenger tried to dump
a small amount marijuana that he had in one of his pockets. The driver was
eventually cited for the traffic violations and the passenger was cited for the
drug offense as well as for delaying. Report Number: 150236517
12:20pm Schwerin/Garrison Stolen Vehicle
A Black BMW doing “donuts” in the area of Schwerin and
Garrison Street prompted a witness to call the police. Officers Rand and
Jackson responded to the area and found the skid marks on the street, but no
vehicle. They continued their search and a short distance away found the Black
BMW with a blown tire. Next to the vehicle they found the driver trying to
change the tire. The officers spoke with the young man who said, “I just bought
this car the other day from some guy”. The officers asked for his driver’s
license and vehicle paperwork, but he had none to give. The officers then ran
the license plates and discovered the vehicle had been stolen out of Palo Alto
a week before. The subject was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

Blk Sunnydale Firearm/Warrant
Arrest
Officers Seavey, Padilla and Barajas happened to be driving
through the Sunnydale Housing Development when they noticed a subject, whom
they knew from prior contacts and to be on probation, driving in the opposite
direction. They quickly turned around and caught up to the Blue Honda, which
had now parked on the 1800 block of Sunnydale Avenue. As they approached the
vehicle they noticed that the rear female passenger was quick to get out of the
car and started to walk away. She was immediately detained along with the two
male occupants that were still inside the car. The two male subjects provided
the officers with their identifications, but the female kept stalling and
provided a fake name. After a thorough investigation, the officers finally
discovered the female’s true identity and discovered she had a warrant for her
arrest. The officers searched the female and found she had a fully loaded .32
caliber revolver hidden inside her purse.
The two male subjects were released and the female suspect taken into
custody. She was ultimately charged with carrying a concealed weapon and booked
on the outstanding warrant. Report Number: 150238773
