Arrests:
11:45am Moscow & France Robbery
Ingleside
Officers Cvetovac and Lim were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery in
Crocker-Amazon Park. When they arrived they found a visibly upset and crying
victim who told the officers she was sitting on a bench when two unknown men
approached her. One of the men had a black gun in his right hand and pointed it
at her head. Fearing for her safety, the victim surrendered her purse to the
suspects who then ran out of the park north on Moscow Street. Ingleside Officer
Cvetovac interviewed a witness who told him she was driving north on Moscow
when she noticed two men fleeing the dugout area of the park. She said she also
noticed the victim screaming and crying. The witness realized the crying woman
was a crime victim and she followed the suspects as they ran north on Moscow. The
witness watched as the suspects got into a grey four door sedan that was double
parked in the 600 block of Moscow. The vehicle then fled north and the witness
lost it near the intersection of Moscow and Avalon. Meanwhile a Muni driver
called dispatch and said she also witnessed the incident and provided a
description of the silver Ford Crown Victoria
with paper dealer plates, which fled north on Moscow. The description of the
car was put out in a city wide broadcast. Soon thereafter a Mission Station
officer spotted the suspect vehicle at 7th and Harrison Streets.
Bayview, Mission, and Southern Station officers converged on the scene and
detained the three occupants. Items stolen from the robbery were found inside
the car. One suspect had a Glock pistol in his waistband. The Muni driver and
the victim positively identified the car and the occupants as the men who
robbed her. The suspects, along with the woman driver, were arrested and booked
for robbery. Report number: 170845897
Serious
Incidents:
10:00am Bernal Heights & Anderson Theft
Ingleside
Officers Chan and Endo were driving in the area of Cortland and Ellsworth
Streets when they spotted a silver Infiniti coupe with no front license plate
and a dealer paper plate on the back. The officers followed the Infiniti
because thieves and other criminals often use paper plates to avoid detection
and identification. The Infiniti was spotted by other officers during the past
week driving around Bernal Heights possibly casing parked cars. Chan and Endo
turned on their emergency lights and siren and attempted to stop the Infinity.
But instead of stopping, the driver took off at a high rate of speed blowing
through stop signs at several intersections. The officers turned off their
emergency lights and siren and stopped the pursuit in the interest of public safety.
They then went to the dog park near Bernal Heights Avenue and were approached
by a woman who said her car was broken into a short time before and laptop,
cell phone, debit card, and driver’s license, all within a backpack, was
missing. Report number: 170845502
