Arrests:

12:17 am   Mission/30th                Drunk Driving
Officers Leong and Castillo were responding to investigate a vandalism call, when they observed a vehicle drive through a red light without stopping. The officers attempted to pull the car over but the car did not. After a few hundred feet, the car stopped.  Officer Leong approached the driver and could smell that the driver had been drinking. The officer asked the driver to submit to a "Field Sobriety Test". The driver failed the test. The driver agreed to a breath test. In California the legal limit is 0.08. The driver results were .180. The driver was arrested for drunk driving. His license was immediately taken away and suspended pending the results of his court case. Report number 110255024

1:30 pm     Mission/Fair                Attempted Robbery
Officers Sugitan and Fung were sent to investigate an attempted robbery and fare evasion. Lt Vintero arrived prior to the officers and broadcast information (description) regarding the suspect. The officers interviewed the victim. The victim told the officers that the suspect got on his bus and did not pay nor show a transfer. The victim saw that the suspect looked angry and decided to let it go. The victim told the officers that he stopped the bus to let passengers out, when the suspect came up to him and threatened him because he felt (the suspect) that the bus was stopped too long.  The suspect tried to take the entire book of transfers but was only able to get a few. The suspect was stopped by Lt Vintero and detained. The victim was able to positively identify the suspect.  The Lt discovered that the suspect had drugs and the stolen transfers on him. The suspect was arrested and booked. Report number 110256414. This is the "The Best Arrest of the Day"

2:18 pm     3300 blk Mission        Theft
Officer Lim responded to investigate a theft case. The victim told the officer that he observed the suspect in the store drunk causing a disturbance. The victim asked the suspect to leave. The suspect walked away and grabbed a case of beer (30 cans). Officer Rand located the suspect with the beer and detained him. The suspect was arrested and the beer returned. The suspect was cited and released. Report number 110256630

8:15 pm     3300 blk Mission        Theft
Officers Crispin and Kneuker were sent to investigate a theft case. The victim told the officers that while working he watched as the suspect placed several items under his jacket. The victim watched as the suspect walked out the door without paying for the items taken. The victim was able to escort the suspect back into the store and recover the items (5 sticks of deodorant). The officers took custody of the suspect and conducted a computer check for his identity. The suspect gave several names, but was finally identified and booked for the crime. Report number 110254747

Officers Chan and Guzman were sent to investigate a burglary incident. The victim told the officers that when he got home he discovered that he front door had been kicked in. the victim had not entered. The officers then cleared the house and the victims were able to tell them that there was $3000 in cash taken, and over $10,000 in electronic equipment taken. The officers contacted CSI to respond. Officer Lim was dispatched to investigate a theft case. The victim told the officer that she put her iPhone in a drawer in her room. The victim told the officer that she left her room for 45 minutes. The victim told the officer that when she returned she discovered her phone gone. The surveillance tapes are being ordered. Report number 110256599

Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report regarding a dog attack. The victim told the PSA that while walking his dog at the dog park when another dog attacked his dog. The victim told the PSA that he separated the dogs and received a puncture on his finger. Because this is Civil in nature the victim was advised to file a claim in small claims court. Officers Hornstein and Goldsborough were sent to investigate a robbery. The victim told the officer that he was crossing the street when a suspect came up to him and forcefully took his Nintendo DDS from his hands. The suspect then fled the area. Report number 110253733

Police Services Aide Zabarte prepared a report regarding a fraud case. The victim told the PSA that his bank contacted him to inquire about a $4700 withdrawal. The victim told the PSA that he did not give anyone permission for anyone to make any transactions on his account. Report number 110256373

Officer Rand responded to investigate an auto break in. the victim told that officer that he parked his car and locked it with no damage. when the victim returned he discovered that someone had broken a window and removed a cell phone and a knife. The victim did not see anyone commit the crime. Report number 110256044

Police Services Aide Zabarte prepared a report regarding a theft of a catalytic converter. The victim told the officer that he parked and left his car in good working order only to discover that someone had removed the converter from under the car. report number 110255610

The victim told the officers that he looked out the window and observed a suspect standing at his car. The victim yelled at the suspect, who then fled. There was no loss. Report number 110255262

Officers Peregoy and Trail were dispatched to investigate a burglary incident. The victim told the officers that she left her home after securing it. When she returned she discovered that the security bars on her front window were missing. When she went inside she noticed that there was property missing. Because there was no physical evidence CSI was not notified. Report number 110253329

Officers Deguzman and Altamirano were sent to investigate a burglary case. The victim told the officers that she could not find a bag that contained flashlights. The victim did not think anything of it at the time, but as time went on, she realized that someone had taken it. The victim told the officers that there are people living at the house, but that the doors are always locked when she is not there. Report number 110253567

Officers Chang and Park were sent to investigate a robbery. The victim told the officers that while walking a trail near Still he was approached by a suspect who asked for help. The suspect then told the victim that he needed his money and that he had a gun. The victim took his wallet out and threw it over a fence. The victim continued walking. When the victim could no longer see the suspect, he turned back to get the wallet. The wallet was gone. Report number 110254032

Officers Gabriel and Apodaca responded to investigate a burglary case. The person that called would not speak to officers. The officers located a door that was ajar and checked the location. Officers Park and Chang were sent to investigate a robbery incident. The victim told the officers that he went out to his car to get something out of the trunk. The victim told the officers that he did not see anyone outside. The victim told the officers that he opened the trunk of the car when someone gave him a bear hug from behind.  The victim fell to his knees and saw a gun in the suspect’s hand. The victim told the officers that the suspect grabbed the gun. The suspect pulled the gun and ran. The victim told the officers that he could not identify the suspect. Report number 110254822

Officer Deguzman and Sgt Escobar responded to investigate a threats incident. The victim told the officers that a known suspect had come over to her home and threatened her in violation of a court order. The victims’ court order was verified. The officers then responded to the suspects’ residence and once the suspect came out to speak to the officers, was placed under arrest for the death threat and the violation of the court order. 2:31 pm     San Jose/Randall                Warrant Arrest

Officers Lim and Chew were on patrol when they noticed a driver talking on his cell phone while driving. The officers stopped the vehicle and driver to issue a citation. Once the officers had the driver information, they discovered that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant for drunk driving. The driver was arrested and booked on the warrant. Officers Pedersen and Polovina were sent to investigate an assault incident. The victim told the officers that while at home a known suspect attacked him for no reason. The victim told the officers that he did not remember the incident and passed out. The next day his family saw the injuries and took him to the hospital. The officers responded to the location where the suspect was and detained him. After advising the suspect of his Miranda rights, the suspect gave a different story that the officers determined was not totally factual. The suspect was arrested and then booked at ingleside station. Report number 110249215

Officers Padilla and Tam were on patrol when officer Tam recognized a known suspect to him that he knew was on supervised probation and had a search condition because of this. The officers stopped the car with the intention to conduct a probation search. The suspect stopped the car and the officers conducted the search. The officers then asked to search the suspect’s home. The officers responded the suspects’ home and conducted the search. At the home they located drugs and another suspect that had a $50,000 warrant. Both suspects were arrested and booked at ingleside station. Report number 110251715

Officer Deguzman responded to ingleside station to prepare a report regarding extortion. The victim told the officers that some tome ago a known suspect to her asked to borrow $500. The victim told the suspect at the time that she did not have the money. The suspect since has badgered the victim for the money. The victim told the officer that the suspect found out of a trip abroad the victims’ husband was going on. The suspect told the victim that she needed to give her $500 for proof that the victims husband was away cheating on her. The suspect has been sending different people to intimidate the victim. Inspector Hutchings from the ingleside S.I.T has taken over the case. Report number 110251812

Officer Morgante responded to investigate a theft case. The victim told the officers that he had placed his bike on a hook in the garage and that it was gone. The victim did not see any suspects. Report number 110250557

Officer Hurwitz and several other officers made contact with a suspect who was in the possession of narcotics and fraudulent checks that were believed to be altered.  The officers took the suspect into custody without further incident. Report 110248524

Officer Bear and other Ingleside officers responded to a call of a burglary.  Upon arrival, officers noticed the garage door and the front door were open.  The victim stated that he had locked and secured all the doors to his residence before he left the house.  A vehicle belonging to the victim had a shattered window.  The victim said the suspect took his house keys out of his vehicle to gain entry into the residence.  The officers conducted a search of the home and did not locate a suspect.  The victim said there did not appear to be anything missing from the residence. Officers Deguzman and Altamirano responded to a call of a robbery.  The victim was on a MUNI bus when a suspect grabbed her purse and attempted to pull it away from her.  The victim and the suspect got off the bus while struggling over the purse.  The victim fell to the ground and the suspect repeatedly hit her in the head with closed fists.  The victim was able to maintain control of her purse while the suspect fled with several other subjects.  Officer Wilson responded to the scene and detained several possible suspects.  The suspect was positively identified and was subsequently taken into custody without further incident. Sgt. Miller and Officer Murphy responded to a call regarding shoplifting.  Store security had witnessed the suspect conceal items on his person and leave the store without any attempt to pay for the items.  The suspect was being detained by store security.  Officer Murphy arrested the suspect for theft.  Report 110245188

Officers Aslam and Ocreto were on patrol when they were flagged down by a citizen regarding subjects smoking marijuana near a children’s playground.  The officers made contact with several suspects.  A records check revealed one suspect had outstanding warrants. Officers Dilag and Lundy were dispatched regarding a burglary.  The victim stated he left his residence for a short period of time.  He said he locked his door but left a bedroom window open.  When he returned, he found that his laptop was missing.  Report 110247021

Officers Barajas and Shugars responded to a call of a theft.  The victim stated while in a bar, she placed he purse on a barstool while she went dancing.  When she returned to the barstool, her purse was gone. Report 110247015

Officer Campion-Healy took a report of a theft from a vehicle.  The victim stated that the rear passenger side window of his vehicle had been shattered and that items in his vehicle had been rummaged through.  The victim did not believe anything was missing at the time he reported the incident.  Report 110244594

Officers Chew and Lim responded to call of an abandoned suitcase.  The officers contacted the SFPD Bomb Unit who also responded to the scene.  The suitcase was rendered safe.  Report 110244447

Sgt. Miller responded to a market regarding a call about graffiti.  A community mural was damaged with graffiti.  A community group was able to clean the graffiti from the mural.  The incident was captured on security cameras.  The incident is pending further investigation. Report 110244732’

2:00pm       1500 Blk Hampshire St                         Battery
Officers Martinez and Morgante responded to a battery call. The victim stated he had left some clothing at the bottom of his stairs for a charity to pick up.  The suspect approached the clothing and said he needed some pants.  The victim told the suspect not to take anything and he pushed the suspect away from the clothing.  The suspect then punched the victim in the eye and fled.  A search for the suspect yielded negative results.  Report 110245047

Officers Chan and Guzman were dispatched to a report of a robbery.  The victim said she was leaving the BART station to go meet her ride.  The victim said she noticed the suspect standing on the corner.  The victim walked past the suspect and sat down to wait for her ride.  The suspect approached the victim and demanded she give him her money or he would shoot her.  The victim was wearing headphones that the suspect grabbed along with her iPod.  He also patted her pockets down before fleeing on foot.  Report 110246164

Officers Hom and Gomez responded to a call of a battery.  The victim told the officers that a suspect had punched her in the sternum and pulled her hair.  A witness confirmed the victims’ story.  Officers located the suspect and arrested him for battery. Report 110242708

Officers Antonian, Dudley and Pereira were on patrol when they noticed a known suspect who had an active stay away order from housing authority property.  The suspect was also on felony probation.  The officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.  Report 110243336

Officer Thompson took a counter report at Co. H regarding a theft from a vehicle.  The victim stated that the catalytic converter from his vehicle had been taken sometime in the evening hours when he slept. Report 110241904

Officers Deguzman and Altamirano responded to call of a burglary.  The victim stated that he had left a back door to his residence open upon leaving the residence.  When he returned, the victim saw wet footprints on the floor and realized that several items had been taken from the residence. Officers Shugars and Barajas were responded to a call regarding a robbery.  The victim stated that she was approached by a suspect who grabbed her purse and tried to forcible remove it from her shoulder.  The victim held on to her purse until the suspect punched her twice in the forehead.  The suspect fled on foot with her purse.  The officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results. Officers Barajas and Shugars responded to a call of a burglary.  The victims stated that when they left their residence, they locked and secured the door.  When they returned, they found the door slightly ajar.  The victims said some of their items had been disturbed but that it did not appear anything was missing. Officers Apodaca and Gabriel responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle.  The victim stated while in his residence, he noticed flashing lights coming from the front of his house.  He looked outside and saw that the emergency lights on his vehicle were on.  The victim went down to his car and found the right front window had been shattered and the contents of the glove box were scattered in the car. 11:00 am   50 Phelan                     Drug Arrest
SFCCPD Officers McGlaston and Sanchez were on patrol when they responded to an area of the campus that people go to in an attempt to hide from view. The officers made their way around a building and as they were doing so, they could smell Marijuana. The officers turned the corner and found several people smoking "Weed". The subjects were detained. Numerous SFCCPD officers arrived to assist. The officers could see that the main suspect had a large quantity of marijuana in his pocket so he was immediately arrested and cuffed. The subjects were ID’d and a warrants check was conducted. The check revealed that the main suspect holding all the drugs was on parole. The other subjects were clear so four were admonished one was cited and the main suspect was booked. The suspect was transported to the City Prison for booking. While being booked at the SF Sherriff, they found that the suspect had concealed numerous bindles of marijuana in his waistband. Since it is against the law to bring drugs into a jail facility, the suspect now was charged with a felony in addition to the misdemeanor charge from SFCCPD.  Report number 110238876.  This is "The Best Arrest of the Day"

5:50 pm     Guerrero/29th St            Robbery Arrest
Officer Preston was on patrol when dispatch sent him to investigate a robbery that had just occurred. Dispatch told the officer that a Parking and Control officer was following the suspect and giving directions. The officer was able to locate the PCO and the suspect. As soon as the suspect saw the officer he dropped to his knees and placed his hands behind his head and surrendered, the suspect knew it was over! As the officer was cuffing the suspect he saw a woman running in his direction yelling "that’s him!"  Referring to the suspect the officer had just cuffed. The victim told the officer that while walking she felt some grab her cell phone from behind. The victim and the suspect wrestled over the phone. When the suspect figured out that he was not going to get the phone, he snatched the victims’ glasses and began to run. The victim chased the suspect. The victim told the officer that this is when the PCO and another witness also began chasing the suspect.  Because of the participation of the witness and PCO another would be robber is in jail! 6:50 pm     500 blk Moultrie            Robbery Arrest
Officers Archilla and Paras were sent to investigate a battery incident. The officers interviewed the victim. The victim told the officers that he was to meet with the two suspects because he owed them some money. When the suspects arrived the suspect told him that he wanted to talk outside. Once outside the suspect pushed the victim up against a wall and demanded money. The victim told the suspect that he did not have any money. The suspect then threatened the victim and removed all the property from his pocket, and took his bracelet. The suspects then left. What the suspects did not realize was that a witness saw what was going on and called the police. So while the victim was getting robbed the police was already on the way. By the time the victim walked away the police had arrived and detained the suspects. The victim was located and positively identified the suspects! Two more robbery suspects are in jail in the Ingleside. Report number 111240326

Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report regarding a vandalism incident. The victim told the PSA that she parked her car in front of her home and when she came out the next morning all four tires had been slashed and she found a cell phone under her car. The victim told the PSA that she noticed that her phone number was listed on that phone and that was the number that she had been receiving unwanted text messages from. The phone was booked as evidence. Report number 110240003

Officers Parka and Chang were sent to investigate a Burglary incident. the victim told the officers that when he got home he noticed that the front door had been kicked in , but not opened. The victim told the officers that there was nothing missing. report number 110240188

Police Services Aide Heckenberg-Tognozzi prepared a report regarding a theft incident. The victim told the PSA he parked his car in front of his home. He later noticed that the window was broken. The victim took inventory and told the PSA that there was nothing missing. report number 110238810

4:20 pm     Mission/Seneca          Bicycle Theft
Officers Park and Chang were sent to investigate a theft incident. The victim told the officers that he was at a business and stopped for five minutes. The victim told the officer that when he looked at where he had parked the bike, it was gone. He did not see anyone take the bike. Report number 110239658

8:00 pm     Delano/Niagara           Robbery
Officers Chang and Park were sent to investigate a robbery case. The victim told the officers that she got off BART and was walking home when she felt like someone was following. She saw two suspects. The victim told the officers that she crossed the street and called her husband. While the victim called her husband she pulled out a small can of OC (pepper spray) and held it in her right hand. The victim said that she heard steps behind her and saw the suspects running up to her and get right in front of her, then point a silver gun at her. The suspect told the victim to "give it up" the victim told the suspects that she did not have anything. The victim told the officers that the second suspect seemed distracted, so it was at that point she raised the OC and sprayed the suspect with the gun in the face. The second suspect threw a punch at the victim that grazed the victim. As both suspects regrouped and started to make their way towards the victim she turned and ran into the street and stopped a passing car. The suspects fled. The victim was not injured and there was no loss. Report number 110240495

Officers Barajas and Shugars were sent to investigate a Vandalism incident. The victim told the officers that a known suspect to her got into an argument. The suspect was asked to leave and not to return. The suspect walked to the door and turned around and broke the window on the door. The suspect then got in his car and left. Report number 110240508

Officers Shugars and Barajas responded to investigate a robbery. The victim told the officers that she was walking home when she felt someone come up behind her and grab her purse. The victim tried to turn and was pushed to the ground. The victim looked at the susp0ct who told her to "shut up". The suspect took the purse and fled. After the officers left, they received a call from the victim stating that she had called the bank to cancel her cards and that someone had already (45 min) used her card to pay for gas. The officers responded to the gas station and will retrieve the video. Report number 110240592

Officer Muro was sent to investigate a theft case. The victim told the officer that she parked and locked her car and went home. The victim told the officer that when she got into her car she noticed that someone had broken in. the victim told the officer that the gym bag she left in the car was missing.
