2:00pm       1200 Blk. Geneva               Hot Prowl Burglary

A woman at home with her daughter heard someone banging on the front door. The woman told Ingleside Officers Grabbe and Camarra that she was afraid and didn’t answer the front door. Next, she heard footsteps coming up the stairs to the home from the garage. Still, she was too frightened to confront the intruder and stayed in her room for another ten minutes. When she finally walked out of her room, she found her safe in another room pried open and a large amount of cash, jewelry, and identification missing from inside. The officers discovered the thieves entered the home by breaking through a downstairs door. Report number: 180020465

2:00am       Unit Blk. Garrison                   Firearm

Ingleside Officers Wise and Anton-Buzzard were dispatched to the unit block of Garrison to investigate a report of several vehicles with bullet holes. When they arrived, the officers found neighbors and three vehicles with bullet holes in various places of each car. They also found three nine millimeter casings, four .40caliber casings, and bullet fragments between two vehicles. The officers surmised that the scene might had been a gunfight between two individuals with two different weapons. Report number: 180018391

12:30pm     Mission & Godeus                 Robbery w/Force

A woman called police after being robbed of her cell phone on a MUNI bus. The victim told Ingleside Officers Salazar and Tiffer that she was sitting near the rear exit of the bus, looking at her phone, when an unknown man grabbed her phone and ran off the bus. The victim gave chase for several blocks from Mission to eastbound Virginia, to southbound Coleridge, to Westbound Eugenia, and back to Mission where she finally lost site of the suspect. 6:30pm       Mansell & San Bruno                 Robbery

A woman waiting at the bus stop for the #8 Muni bus was suddenly approached from behind by an unknown man. The suspect attempted to pull the purse from the victim who pulled back, leading to a struggle. The struggle continued for a short time until the suspect threw the victim to the ground. The victim then took the purse off her body and threw it on the ground. The suspect then gathered up the purse and ran away westbound on Mansell. Ingleside Officers Dungca and Calupad arrived and broadcast a description of the suspect. The loss was a wallet, cash, credit cards, a debit card, cell phone, keys, and identification. Within a short time, several items were charged to the victim’s credit cards at a nearby Walgreens and gas station. Report number: 180015892

5:53am       23^rd & Church                   Battery

An elderly woman riding a MUNI LRV home was suddenly confronted by an unknown suspect. She told Ingleside Officers Glover and Alejandrino that the suspect, without provocation or warning, hit the victim in the face and then jumped off the streetcar. The victim traveled to the end of the line at San Jose and Geneva before calling her son, who called police. She was transported by medics to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Report number: 180011232

11:00am     5000 Mission                      Aggravated Assault

Ingleside Officers Cvetovac and Prieto were dispatched to a call of a violent attack at a gas station. When they arrived they found the victim with several bruises on his face and neck. Shortly before being transported to the hospital, he told the officers that he was paying for items at the cash register when an unknown man walked up and punched him in the face. The victim fought back and the pair traded punches while struggling through the store. At one point, another suspect joined the fray and punched the victim while the first suspect tried to strangle him. The victim’s girlfriend was also attacked while trying to break up the fight. Both suspects ran to a car parked in the station’s parking lot which then sped away in an unknown direction. Cvetovac and Prieto summoned medical help and both victims were treated at the scene by medics. Report number: 180011680

2:23am       5500 Blk. Mission                     Narcotics

Ingleside Officers Hardy and Lau were on routine patrol when they spotted a man jaywalking through traffic. The officers stopped their patrol car to admonish the pedestrian about walking in the middle of the street. When the officers asked if he had any weapons in his possession he responded, “Yes, a knife”. The officers removed the knife and, in a search of his clothing, Hardy and Lau found a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. The officers cited the suspect for possession of narcotics paraphernalia and released him at the scene. Report number: 180008392

2:19pm       1600 Blk. Alemany                 Warrants Arrest

A home on the 100 block of Dublin has been the scene of many arrests and calls for service. On this date, Ingleside Officers Archilla and Lustenberger watched as a Lincoln Town Car, driven by a woman, pulled up to the address. Shortly after arriving, a man exited the home and got into the Lincoln, without attaching his seatbelt, and sped away.  The officers pulled the Lincoln over and asked the driver for her license. It was suspended. She also had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest out of San Mateo County. Her passenger had a much more extensive criminal history. He was on probation with two convictions for domestic violence and aggravated assault. Inside the car were several open bottles of liquor. He was arrested for violating his probation. The woman driver was arrested for the outstanding warrant. Report number: 180009657

5:50pm       100 Blk. Precita                     Shooting into Building

A woman called police after finding her front windows blown out. Ingleside Officers Leung and Clayton responded and discovered the windows had been damaged by gunshots. The victim and neighbors reported hearing four gunshots and then a vehicle speeding away. The officers found several bullet casings outside the home and four bullet holes in the victim’s ceiling. No one inside the home was injured. Report number: 180010303

7:00pm       200 Blk. Hahn                        Robbery

A woman walking home from the store with her pet dog was suddenly confronted by an unknown suspect holding a gun. She told Ingleside Officers Wong and Garza that the suspect asked the woman for her shoulder bag, but before she could surrender the bag, he pulled it off of her shoulder. Her dog, seeing the suspect aggressively pull the bag from the victim, bit the suspect on the leg. The suspect then shot the woman’s dog killing it instantly. The victim’s mother, hearing the shots, went outside and found her daughter sobbing and cradling her dead companion while the suspect ran away with her daughter’s property. Report number: 180010397

12:37pm     Unit Blk. Tingley                              Firearm

Many suspects drive vehicles with paper plates to avoid detection for a variety of crimes. Sometimes the vehicles are stolen. Sometimes they have expired registration. Sometimes they’re wanted for non-vehicle felonies. On this date, Ingleside Officers Naser and Tayliong were driving south on Mission when they noticed a Honda Accord driving north with paper plates and tinted windows. The officers made a U-Turn and followed the Honda stopping the driver near Tingley and Mission. The driver didn’t have a license. He did give his name to the officers, who ran it through the computer system, which showed his license was suspended. But that wasn’t all. He also had two arrest warrants out of San Luis Obispo and Alameda Counties for vehicle code violations. He was placed in custody and a search of his clothing revealed approximately $2500 in cash in his pockets. Underneath the driver’s seat was a loaded .45 caliber firearm. The suspect was arrested and taken to Ingleside Station. Report number: 180006584

11:58am     100 Blk. Concord                            Hot Prowl Burglary

A woman, home alone, heard her doorbell ring. At first it rang at a slow pace and then it rang at an increasingly fast pace. She looked outside and saw a male suspect outside her iron gate. She called her father who told her to call 911, which she did after escaping to her backyard. While in the backyard, and waiting for police to arrive, she heard the suspect or suspects in her home. Soon thereafter she heard the suspect’s car leaving just before Ingleside Officers Prieto and Alejandrino arrive. The officers found the suspect or suspects entered the home using some type of tool that pried open the security gate and the front door. Inside they stole a safe containing a large amount of cash, jewelry, passports and other valuables. Several other items were stolen from bedrooms before the suspects made their quick escape. Serious Incidents:

7:30pm       San Jose & Ocean                    Stolen Vehicle

A citizen walked into Ingleside Station telling Police Services Aid Bruce that his van was stolen the previous night. The victim told Bruce that his van was in the parking lot at a nearby repair shop on San Jose Avenue. The owner of the repair shop called him to say his facility’s surveillance system showed the suspect breaking into the van and driving away on San Jose Avenue. PSA Bruce checked the department’s computer system, which showed the van was towed from a parking place on the 500 block of Post Street earlier in the day. The van owner traveled to Auto Return to recover his vehicle. Report number: 180007689
