Serious Incidents:

12:11am     Monterey & Baden                 Fire
Ingleside Officer George responded to what turned out to be a false alarm about gunshots in the neighborhood and instead found a fully engulfed recreational vehicle. The fire was intense enough that, in addition to notifying dispatch to send fire units, Officer Castro, with help from his Ingleside colleagues, evacuated several nearby residents from their homes. San Francisco Fire units extinguished the blaze and the owner of the RV was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The owner told officers that he had recently purchased the RV on Craigslist and was having problems with gas lines in the engine compartment. Report number: 180021736

3:30am       1600 Blk. Alemany                 Hot Prowl Burglary
A woman was woken up by her mother in the middle of the night and told her someone left the kitchen light on. The daughter went to the kitchen and discovered the kitchen window open and the curtain rod for the window lying on top of the refrigerator. The door from the kitchen to the garage was also open. She told Ingleside Officers George, Parker, Lozano, McCall and Stoffel that, in the garage, she found her garage door open and the doors and trunks of their two parked car in the garage also open. Items were missing from both vehicles. The officers determined that the burglar or burglars entered the home through the kitchen window and exited through the garage door. Report number: 180021899

1:53pm       Cortland & Andover              Theft
A victim of a car burglary recovered his property after a violent struggle with two suspects. The victim told Ingleside Officer Wong and Sgt. Kumli that he was walking back to a grocery store parking lot carrying food items, when he heard the sound of breaking glass. When he entered the parking lot he saw one man near his car and another suspect sitting in a parked Chevrolet Malibu. The right front passenger window of the victim’s car was broken and the suspect near his car was holding the victim’s laptop computer. The victim ran up and fought to get back his computer with the first suspect and a short time later with the second suspect. During the struggle, one of the suspects dropped the computer and both then ran to the Malibu, which escaped down Andover Street. The victim was able to give the officers a license plate number for the Malibu. However, the plate turned out to be stolen. Report number: 180022966
