Arrests:

12:35am                          Unit blk Lisbon St                       Warrant Arrest
Officers have an expression, “you can’t make this stuff up”, for skeptics about their profession and some of the arrests they’ve made in their careers. For Ingleside Officers Parker and Ortega this is one arrest they’ll tell their grandchildren about. They were dispatched to the unit block of Lisbon on the report of a man trying to cut down a tree with a machete. When they arrived they found the man sitting on the sidewalk, next to a tree, with his black pants hanging from a branch. The suspect told the officer that the tree attacked him, took his pants, and the officers should arrest the tree.  A records check revealed the suspects was wanted on a no bail felony warrant for burglary. He was transported to the station and booked for the warrant. The officers did not find a machete at the scene and the tree was released with a warning. Report number: 170555864

9:15pm                          Felton/Harvard Sts                                  Narcotics
Ingleside officers Anderson and Burke were on routine patrol when they spotted an older Honda Accord without a front license plate driving towards them on Felton Street. The officers made a U-Turn and ran the plate which showed the vehicle was not stolen like many other Honda’s of this vintage. Nevertheless the officers decided to stop the vehicle to warn the driver about operating the vehicle without a front plate. The driver pulled over, got out, and started walking and then running away. Burke and Anderson got back in their patrol car to chase the suspect but soon lost sight of him. However a helpful Muni bus driver pointed to the suspect walking nearby on Felton Street near Harvard. He was taken into custody but was not wearing the beanie he had while driving the car. Officer Burke decided to retrace the suspect’s escape route and found the beanie nearby behind a bush. Inside the hat was a significant amount of methamphetamine. The suspect was also driving with a suspended license after losing his license for the same crime before. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for the vehicle code violation and the narcotics offense and released. His Honda was towed to impound. Report number: 170558238

Serious Incidents:

9:45pm                         San Bruno Ave/Somerset St                      Robbery
A woman walked into Ingleside Station to report a violent robbery. The victim told Ingleside officer Cortez Cendejas that a short time ago she had exited a Muni bus at San Bruno and Somerset and began walking toward her homeh. While walking she noticed a man running up behind her. Before she could react he pushed her to the ground and wrapped one arm around her neck in a choke hold. He demanded her wallet and told her not to scream because he had a knife. The suspect then punched her several times in the jaw before pulling off her headphones that were connected to her cell phone. He grabbed the cell phone and ran away northbound on Somerset Street. The victim declined medical attention. Report number: 170903871
