When he got home he noticed one of his passengers had left a cell phone in his vehicle. The driver, following procedure, got back in his car and was driving to Uber headquarters to drop off the lost phone. While on the way, he got a call from his passengers pleading that he return the phone to them. The driver said Uber procedures prevented him from doing that. The passengers pleaded with him saying they needed the phone for work and offered $50. The driver said okay and said to meet him at a restaurant on 29th and Mission. Soon thereafter, the passengers showed up at the restaurant, accused the driver of stealing the phone, and demanded its return without paying the $50 reward. The discussion turned into a physical confrontation and one of the passengers took out a knife and threatened the Uber driver. A food server, seeing the confrontation, called police and Ingleside Officers Quinlan and Siracusa arrived a short time later to investigate the incident.
