ATTENTION!

There have been reports of a telephone scam going around recently.  An individual will call requesting personal information from you.  DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE.  Please alert the police by going to your nearest police station or calling the non-emergency dispatch line (553-0123) if you are contacted by any of these individuals.  Thank you.

10:00am                              600 Blk. Teresita                                 Burglary

A homeowner, along with her contractor, entered her home and heard strange voices in the house. The two backed out of the home and called police. (Captain’s Note: These victims acted appropriately. Too often burglary victims don’t resist the temptation and rush inside to confront the criminals. That’s obviously extremely dangerous. If you suspect someone’s in your home don’t go in. Call police and wait outside for our arrival.) Ingleside officers Lim and Rodriquez arrived within minutes as well as several other officers who set up a perimeter around the residence. Officer Lim called out to the suspects to come out of the home. Shortly thereafter a woman exited the home and complied with orders to lie down on the ground and surrender. She was handcuffed and arrested for burglary. A search of the home failed to find other suspects. The homeowner found nothing of value was taken during the burglary. Report number: 160551913
