There have been reports of a telephone scam going around recently.  An individual will call requesting personal information from you.  DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE.  Please alert the police by going to your nearest police station or calling the non-emergency dispatch line (553-0123) if you are contacted by any of these individuals.  Thank you.

2:30am                                Unit Blk. Ora Way                                    Theft
A man leaving his girlfriend’s apartment noticed the lights on inside his truck parked in front on the street. Inside the truck was a strange man going through the contents. The victim ordered the man out of his truck and the burglar exited the vehicle dropping the vehicle owner’s sunglasses and two cell phones onto the sidewalk. The burglar then tried to escape by running away but the victim was faster and caught up after a short chase and pulled him to the ground by his backpack. Ingleside officers Dilag, Hardy, Scott, Villalozano, Hermosura arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. He was cited for theft and released at the scene. Report number: 160548396

A homeowner’s newly installed surveillance camera’s helped nab a trespasser. The victim told Ingleside officers Cvetovac and Tien that, after a recent home burglary, he decided to install at home surveillance and alarm system. He decided to test the system after it was installed. He alarmed it and got in his car and drove away.  He stopped and logged on to the system to see how his cameras were working. To his surprise he saw a suspect on his back balcony, trying to open the sliding doors. He returned home and called police. Ingleside officers Cvetovac, Tien, Morrow, and Francisco responded and watched the footage. The victim recognized the suspect.  The officers located the suspect and cited him for trespassing. The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest on a previous trespassing case. He was taken to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number: 160549526

5:39pm                           Mt. Vernon & Delano                              Robbery
A woman walking home was suddenly accosted by a robber. The victim told Ingleside officers Burke and Parker that an unknown suspect approached from behind and grabbed her purse from her shoulder, pushing her to the ground. The suspect then ran away westbound on Mt. Vernon. The loss was cell phone, glasses, and cash. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries. 9:32pm                           San Jose & Valley                                    Robbery
A man dropped off a vehicle at a nearby gas station and started walking home only to be confronted by two robbers. The victim told Ingleside officers Dilag and MacKenzie that one of the robbers lifted up his t-shirt revealing a firearm in his waistband. The suspects went through the victim’s clothing removing a wallet, and cell phone. The suspects also took the victim’s duffel bag containing clothing before escaping on Valley Street.
