Arrests:

5:15am       4200 Blk Mission                              Burglary
An employee asleep in his van helped police nab three burglars. The man was asleep inside an auto repair shop when he heard a loud noise. He woke up and noticed flashlights inside the shop’s office. Prudently, he dialed “911” instead of confronting the intruders and Ingleside Officers Tien, Archilla, Dilag, Sandoval, Villazona, Wong, and Anderson responded and observed three suspects running in different directions from the business. The officers split up and captured all three suspects within blocks of the burglary scene. The officers found a cash register, credit card equipment, and other items including car batteries stolen from the business inside a Ford Taurus parked in front of the establishment. A search of the three burglar’s clothing discovered stolen credit and debit cards, a stolen driver’s license, and a substantial amount of cocaine. All three suspects were transported to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, and narcotics. Report number: 160246829

4:45pm       Ocean/Phelan                                   Battery
A man was physically attacked in a case of mistaken identity. The victim flagged down Ingleside Officers Marshall and Smith and said that he was sitting at a bus stop when a woman walked by. He waved and said hello and the woman kept walking. But her boyfriend, who was walking behind her, said, “I’ve been waiting to see you”, and pummeled the man with several punches to his face. After he stopped the beating the suspect paused, looked at the victim, and said, “Sorry, I got the wrong guy”. The victim followed the suspect a short distance before flagging down Officers Marshall and Smith. The suspect told the officers he thought the victim was his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for battery. A records check revealed he had an active warrant for his arrest from the BART police department. The victim refused medical attention. Report nu[HAN1] [HAN2] mber: 160248433

The victim told Ingleside Officers Dilag, Anderson, and Tien that the suspects threatened to stab him if he didn’t relinquish his property. He was then punched several times while the suspects rummaged unsuccessfully through his pockets. When the victim screamed the police were coming, the suspects stopped the assault and ran to a waiting car that sped away. The victim refused medical attention. Officers searched the area for the suspect’s vehicle without success. Report number: 160246669

A citizen flagged down Ingleside Officers Chew and Dominguez that a woman was lying on her back in the middle of the street at Brookdale and Santos. The officers responded and found the woman, who has a medical condition, and who they recognize from previous contacts. The officers summoned medical assistance and were securing the area when a man approached and started yelling at the officers. The man, who has a serious criminal history and is the subject of a restraining order for domestic violence, refused the officers request to leave the area. He continued to harass the officers while they comforted the woman and waited for medical assistance. The restraining order forbids his presence in the area of the medical emergency. After a prolonged physical struggle, the suspect was placed in handcuffs and taken to Ingleside Station for booking. The woman was transported to UCSF Hospital for treatment. Report number: 160245445

The officers placed the suspect in custody. During the arrest, the officers noticed a woman loitering near the suspect. The man under arrest said that the woman was his girlfriend. She told the officers she was on probation with a search condition for several narcotics convictions. She also had a warrant for her arrest. The officers searched the woman and found another narcotics pipe along with several prescription bottles with the name of the patient crossed out. The bottles contained prescription narcotics. The boyfriend was cited and released at the scene. His girlfriend was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for the narcotics violations and the warrant. Report number: 160245912

Arrests:

10:36am     Leland/Delta                           Narcotics Paraphernalia
Many criminals use bicycles to deliver all kinds of products to customers who text their requests. Police officers know this and the criminals know the officers know. So it was a little surprising on this date that a speeding cyclist blew through a stop sign right in front of Ingleside Officers Labson and Barranti. The officers, who were going in the opposite direction of the cyclist on Leland Street, made a quick U-turn and caught up with the impatient cyclist. He didn’t have any identification on him but he did provide his correct date of birth. He also had a pipe used for smoking Methamphetamine in one of his pockets. He was cited for possession of narcotics paraphernalia and released at the scene. Report number: 160241766

Serious Incidents:

4:00am       Mission/30th Street                 Robbery
Ingleside Officers Labson and Barranti were, again, dispatched to investigate a criminal event, this time, out of the City. The officers were called to Kaiser Hospital in South San Francisco to interview the victim of a violent robbery. The man told the officers that at 4:00am that morning he boarded a #14 Mission bus at 29th and Mission en-route to his Daly City home. He noticed four men with “hoodies” on the bus and felt uneasy so he exited a block away at 30th and Mission. The four men followed him off the bus and punched and kicked him numerous times in the face and torso. A witness yelled at the attackers that he was calling the police. The suspects, after removing the victim’s cell phone, cash, and hat, fled in an unknown direction. The bleeding victim boarded another southbound #14 bus and traveled to Mission and Russia Streets where he flagged down a passing Daly City patrol car. The Daly City officer summoned an ambulance which took him to Kaiser Hospital. A doctor at the hospital told Labson and Barranti that the victim suffered numerous injuries, none of the life threatening. The private security firm that provides cameras for Muni vehicles was contacted and will send video from the first bus to Ingleside Station. Report number: 160241205

The woman punched her driver’s side window five times and kicked her car three times. The victim rolled down the window and, with her cell phone in her hand, yelled, “I’m going to call the police”. 1:19pm       500 Blk Sweeny                      Burglary/Stolen Vehicle
Two alert Ingleside Officers, Sgt. Alvarez and Barajas, while on patrol, spotted a man, wanted for burglary and vehicle theft, driving past their patrol car. The officers notified dispatch and asked for the assistance of fellow Ingleside officers. Alvarez and Barajas followed the wanted suspect until he and his passenger, parked their car on the 500 block of Sweeny. Alvarez and Barajas, now joined by Sgt. Salazar and Ingleside Officer Tacchini, exited their patrol cars and placed the driver under arrest. The vehicle he was driving was stolen and the driver was suspected of earlier burglarizing a home in the Northern District. Inside the vehicle, the officers recovered a shaved key used to operate the stolen car along with several suspected stolen musical instruments. The officers also recovered a master key to a church, a garage door opener, checkbooks, bags, tablets, cellular phones, binoculars, a laptop, cameras, camera lenses, a bicycle and bicycle helmet, and vaporizer cartridges, and a jail bracelet. Report number: 160218282

A landlord called police because he’s been unable to remove a trespasser from his property. Ingleside Officers Calupad and Tweedy responded and found the trespasser asleep in the garage. The man told the officers that he has refused to leave because he has nowhere else to stay since his home, in the Sierra foothills, burned down. Calupad and Tweedy ran a records check on the trespasser which revealed that he was a convicted sex offender who had failed to annually register his address for the past two years. He was arrested and taken to Ingleside Station. Report number: 160219688

Arrests:

9:09pm       3200 Blk Mission                    Burglary
An alert citizen watched as a man walked up to a closed restaurant and forcibly pushed open the locked and chain secured front doors. The chain had enough slack for the suspect to squeeze through the door and into the building. The witness called “911” and Ingleside Officers Alday, Nagai, Villalozano, along with over half a dozen additional officers responded to the scene. The officers surrounded the building and gained entrance, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. However, Officers Villalozano and Wong, watching the back of the restaurant, quickly arrested the suspect after he left the building with the business’ IPad, IPhone, and related equipment. The suspect also had credit cards and other items stolen in a previous crime. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary, possession of stolen property, and an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Report number: 160216606

11:37pm     Mission/Ottawa                      Unlicensed Driver
Ingleside Officers Lozano and McCall were on routine patrol when they spotted a vehicle with a malfunctioning license plate lamp. Before stopping the vehicle to alert the driver Lozano and McCall decided to run the plate. That turned out to be a wise decision. The BMW’s registration had expired almost two years ago, although it had a 2016 tag, which turned out to be stolen. The officers pulled over the driver who, in addition to driving a vehicle without proper registration, was also driving without a valid license and had a concealed BB gun in the vehicle which closely resembled a real firearm. He was also on probation from San Mateo County with a search and seizure condition. Report number: 160216866
