The man was asleep inside an auto repair shop when he heard a loud noise. He woke up and noticed flashlights inside the shop’s office. Prudently, he dialed “911” instead of confronting the intruders and Ingleside Officers Tien, Archilla, Dilag, Sandoval, Villazona, Wong, and Anderson responded and observed three suspects running in different directions from the business. The officers split up and captured all three suspects within blocks of the burglary scene. The officers found a cash register, credit card equipment, and other items including car batteries stolen from the business inside a Ford Taurus parked in front of the establishment. A search of the three burglar’s clothing discovered stolen credit and debit cards, a stolen driver’s license, and a substantial amount of cocaine. All three suspects were transported to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, and narcotics. Report number: 1602468294:45pm Ocean/Phelan BatteryA man was physically attacked in a case of mistaken identity. The victim flagged down Ingleside Officers Marshall and Smith and said that he was sitting at a bus stop when a woman walked by. He waved and said hello and the woman kept walking. But her boyfriend, who was walking behind her, said, “I’ve been waiting to see you”, and pummeled the man with several punches to his face. After he stopped the beating the suspect paused, looked at the victim, and said, “Sorry, I got the wrong guy”. The victim followed the suspect a short distance before flagging down Officers Marshall and Smith. The suspect told the officers he thought the victim was his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for battery. A records check revealed he had an active warrant for his arrest from the BART police department. The victim refused medical attention. Police officers know this and the criminals know the officers know. So it was a little surprising on this date that a speeding cyclist blew through a stop sign right in front of Ingleside Officers Labson and Barranti. The officers, who were going in the opposite direction of the cyclist on Leland Street, made a quick U-turn and caught up with the impatient cyclist. He didn’t have any identification on him but he did provide his correct date of birth. He also had a pipe used for smoking Methamphetamine in one of his pockets. He was cited for possession of narcotics paraphernalia and released at the scene. Report number: 160241766
Serious Incidents:4:00am Mission/30th Street RobberyIngleside Officers Labson and Barranti were, again, dispatched to investigate a criminal event, this time, out of the City. The officers were called to Kaiser Hospital in South San Francisco to interview the victim of a violent robbery. The man told the officers that at 4:00am that morning he boarded a #14 Mission bus at 29th and Mission en-route to his Daly City home. He noticed four men with “hoodies” on the bus and felt uneasy so he exited a block away at 30th and Mission. The four men followed him off the bus and punched and kicked him numerous times in the face and torso. A witness yelled at the attackers that he was calling the police. The suspects, after removing the victim’s cell phone, cash, and hat, fled in an unknown direction. The bleeding victim boarded another southbound #14 bus and traveled to Mission and Russia Streets where he flagged down a passing Daly City patrol car. The Daly City officer summoned an ambulance which took him to Kaiser Hospital. A doctor at the hospital told Labson and Barranti that the victim suffered numerous injuries, none of the life threatening. The private security firm that provides cameras for Muni vehicles was contacted and will send video from the first bus to Ingleside Station. The chain had enough slack for the suspect to squeeze through the door and into the building. The witness called “911” and Ingleside Officers Alday, Nagai, Villalozano, along with over half a dozen additional officers responded to the scene. The officers surrounded the building and gained entrance, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. However, Officers Villalozano and Wong, watching the back of the restaurant, quickly arrested the suspect after he left the building with the business’ IPad, IPhone, and related equipment. The suspect also had credit cards and other items stolen in a previous crime. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary, possession of stolen property, and an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Report number: 16021660611:37pm Mission/Ottawa Unlicensed DriverIngleside Officers Lozano and McCall were on routine patrol when they spotted a vehicle with a malfunctioning license plate lamp. Before stopping the vehicle to alert the driver Lozano and McCall decided to run the plate. That turned out to be a wise decision. The BMW’s registration had expired almost two years ago, although it had a 2016 tag, which turned out to be stolen. The officers pulled over the driver who, in addition to driving a vehicle without proper registration, was also driving without a valid license and had a concealed BB gun in the vehicle which closely resembled a real firearm. He was also on probation from San Mateo County with a search and seizure condition.
