Arrests:

01:28am     Avalon/London                       Drugs
Officers Kikuchi and DeFilippo were on duty cruising along near Avalon and Paris Street, when they observed a vehicle violation. Up ahead, they observed a vehicle without the required license plate lights. The officers proceeded to pull the vehicle over and made contact with the three occupants inside. The driver informed Officer Defilipo that he did not have a driver’s license. A computer check also revealed that he was also on active probation with a search condition. At this point all three occupants were taken out while Officer Kikuchi searched the vehicle. During the thorough search, Officer Kikuchi found a small baggie containing powdered cocaine next to the front passenger seat. The female passenger, who was previously sitting in that seat, spontaneously stated, “I’m not going to lie to you. It’s either cocaine or crank”.  Officer Kikuchi seized the suspected drug and proceeded to cite the female passenger for possession of a controlled substance. The driver was cited as well for driving without a valid license. The third passenger was released from the scene with no citation. Report Number: 150392448

08:12pm     100 Blk Niagara                     Robbery
A group of five miscreants were out on the hunt preying on unsuspecting victims. Three of the five suspects surprised a female victim as she walked to her home while on the 100 block of Niagara Street. The victim told Officers Bryant and Wise that she was headed home and focused on her Iphone when she was surprised from behind. One of the suspects reached over the victim’s shoulder and snatched the phone from her hands. The victim immediately looked up and saw all three suspects running away headed west on Niagara towards Cayuga Avenue. It just so happened that an off-duty Probation Officer from Contra Costa County was driving by and saw the suspects running away in a full sprint. Believing a crime had just occurred, the off-duty probation officer kept an eye on the suspects as they jumped into a waiting vehicle that was occupied by two other suspects. The off-duty got the license plate and direction of travel and called it in to police. A computer inquiry on the license plate revealed an address close by in the Ingleside District. Officers Der and Hart responded to the address and found the unoccupied Gold colored Honda Accord. Officers Padilla, Barajas, Seavey and Sgt Alvarez set up on the vehicle and waited close by to see if the suspects returned. Sure enough, all five suspects returned to the vehicle moments later and boarded the vehicle. The officers along with the sergeant jumped into action and pounced on the vehicle taking all five suspects into custody. The officers searched the suspects and recovered the victim’s phone. Three of the five were charged with the robbery and the other two were released. Report Number: 150395248

Serious Incidents:

4:06pm       2200 Blk Bayshore                 Robbery

While waiting, the male companion walked over to the main entrance and was approached by a suspect who confronted him and began tugging on the tote bag. The male victim held on and struggled with the suspect until he was stuck in the head with a closed fist. The male victim fell to the ground and hit is head on the concrete as a result of the assault. The suspect forcefully took the tote bag from the victim and began running away with his acquaintance who was acting as a look out. Both suspects then jumped into a Grey 4 door sedan which fled the scene. The suspects got away with the female’s wallet, various credit cards, Apple Iphone and loose cash.
