Arrests:

3:03am       4800 Blk Mission                       Burglary
An alert citizen helped police catch a particularly busy car burglar. The witness told Ingleside officers Hoge and Marshall he was walking through the Valente Marini Perata Funeral Home parking lot when he saw a man shuffling through the contents of a green Honda Civic. He watched as the man then opened the doors on a Lexus SC 400, took out items and threw some of them on the ground, and finally went to a Honda Accord and performed the same sequence. At that point the witness yelled, “What are you doing?”, which prompted the car burglar to take off through an opening in the fence on to Alemany Blvd.  The witness called police and then started chasing the suspect as he ran southbound and then northbound on Alemany, finally ending up in the Safeway parking lot where he was arrested with the help of Ingleside Sgt. Smith. The officers went back to the funeral home parking lot and found all three vehicles had their side windows broken during the burglary. The officers also found a Chevy Tahoe, Chrysler Pacifica, and a Ford F150 truck with broken windows in the immediate vicinity. A sledge hammer was found leaning against one of the burglarized cars in the funeral home parking lot. A check of the suspect’s record revealed an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for several counts of burglary. Report number: 150285144

3:10pm       Craut/Ney                               Stolen Auto
A woman arguing with a friend in her car decided to cool off the situation by exiting the vehicle and walking away. Unfortunately, she left the keys in the ignition which provided the opportunity for the friend to drive away with her car. The woman called police and Ingleside officers Leong and Imsand arrived to talk to the woman and search for the stolen vehicle. With the help of fellow officers Macaulay, Siracusa, and Bernard, they found the friend a few blocks away, but not the stolen car. The officers persuaded him to provide the e location of the vehicle which was parked in the neighborhood. He was then arrested for car theft. Report number: 150286368

Serious Incidents:

4:30pm       100 Blk Precita                      Robbery
A man walking westbound on Precita noticed two men walking toward him suddenly separate as they approached. When they were near, both grabbed the victim by the arms and shoulders and walked him down a driveway away from the street. While one held the victim’s arms and shoulders, the other went through his pockets taking an IPhone and a wallet containing cash, a debit card, and identification. The suspects then threw the victim on the ground and kicked him numerous times before escaping. Ingleside officers Beaird, Aylsworth, and Watts were dispatched to the scene and interviewed the victim. Medical assistance was summoned and the victim was treated at the scene for his injuries. Report number: 150286540

10:30pm     Silver/Edinburgh                    Armed Robbery
A woman walking home on Silver Avenue walked past a suspect who, she said, looked suspicious. The victim told Ingleside officers Ferronato and Marshall that she walked faster as the suspect began following her. When she stopped at the intersection of Silver and Naples, the suspect pressed a gun against her stomach and told her he would shoot her if she didn’t give him her purse and money. The victim handed over her purse but the suspect returned the purse to her because it was empty. The suspect then took her cell phone before escaping westbound on Silver. Report number: 150287758
