The officers decided to stop the man and admonish him about the dangers of jaywalking across busy Mission Street. However, when they stopped the man, he tossed a package of methamphetamine into the gutter near his feet. He was placed in handcuffs and taken to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number: 150024704Serious Incidents2:40pm 400 Blk Geneva TheftA woman waiting for the bus at the Balboa Park BART Station lost her phone to a robber. The victim told Ingleside Officers Ng and Tillan that she was looking down at her iPhone when a robber ran up and took the device from her hands. Before she could react, he ran away westbound on San Jose Avenue. The officers were unable to track the stolen device using the “Find my iPhone” app. However, using the same app, the victim was able to disable her phone and erase all her data. Report number: 1500234554:00pm Alabama/Ripley RobberyIngleside Officers Campos and Cahill were dispatched to a call of a robbery. When they arrived they found the victim waiting on the sidewalk who told them that two robbers had just stolen her purse. She said she was walking down the street when the robbers suddenly approached from behind and grabbed the straps on her purse causing her to fall to the ground. They then ran off to an awaiting vehicle, which drove away in an unknown direction. The loss was cash, credit and debit cards, a driver’s license, and miscellaneous identification. The victim told Ingleside Officers Hauscarriague and Tran the suspect punched her in the back of the head with a closed fist and grabbed her iPhone. The victim held onto the cell phone but, after a brief struggle, surrendered her purse. The loss was a debit card, social security card, keys, and cash. Report number: 15002500311:54pm Circular/Baden RobberyAnother pedestrian was violently robbed of his possessions. The victim told Ingleside Officers Williams and Bryant that while walking home he noticed a blue compact car suddenly stop next to him. Three men suddenly exited the car, approached, and they started pummeling him with their fists. He was hit several times in the head and fell to the ground at which time the suspects began kicking him. They then removed his cell phone from one of his pockets and his wallet, containing several hundred dollars, from another pocket before entering their car and driving away. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
