Arrests:

5:02am       5200 Blk Diamond Hts Burglary
Officer Trujillo and several other Ingleside officers were sent to investigate a suspect who was attempting to gain entry into an apartment complex.  They arrived on scene and spoke with the reportee who told them that two males were jiggling the door knob and attempting to gain entry into the complex.  He confronted the males who told them to “let them in” and that they were “new” to the building.  The reportee did not recognize the males and went inside to call the police.  When he returned to the front of the building, he noticed the two males sitting inside of a vehicle parked outside.  The two suspects exited the vehicle and, again, asked the male to let them inside.

Officers arrived on scene and detained the two males.  The males said they were visiting a relative and showed the officers keys to enter the building.  The officers attempted to open the front door with the keys, but were unsuccessful.  The two male suspects then said they were visiting a friend, and not a relative.  Both were transported to Ingleside station pending further investigation.

A computer check of the vehicle returned as a rental car.  Both suspects denied knowing anything about the vehicle, and told the officers that they had not been sitting inside of it.  The officers contacted the rental car company who refused to provide any information on the vehicle, and said they would have the vehicle towed from the scene.

At Ingleside station, a computer check showed both suspects were on active probation.  An arrest search located burglary tools on one of the suspects.  At the instruction of Sgt. Garrick, both males were booked for the attempted burglary and violation of their probation.  Report Number 130482934

2:19pm       300 Blk London           Narcotics
Officer Archilla was on patrol when he observed a vehicle double parked on the street in violation of the vehicle code.  He conducted a computer check on the license plate which returned with expired registration, however, the vehicle had a current registration tab affixed to it.  Officer Archilla made contact with an individual who was inside of the vehicle and had him exit the vehicle.  The individual said the vehicle was not his and that he was not driving it.  He pointed to a home that a male was walking out of and told the officers, “He is the one driving.”  The male avoided the officers and went inside the home.  Officers approached the front door and made contact with a woman tenant.  She agreed to let the officers inside to talk to the male, which they located inside.  The male told them that he was driving the vehicle but that his license was suspended.

Officers conducted a computer check which confirmed the suspect’s license was suspended.  An inventory search of the vehicle located various plastic baggies containing a green leafy matter substance believed to be marijuana.  Officers also found a plastic bindle containing yellow pills, later determined to be vicodin, and plastic baggies containing a white crystalline substance. The suspect was transported to Ingleside station where the narcotics tested positive and he was booked at the instruction of Sgt. Chan.  The narcotics were hand delivered to the Narcotics Drop Box at the Hall of Justice.  Report Number 130484247
