Officers Dun and Archilla responded to assist Officers Hornstein and Fung in a D.U.I investigation. Officers Hornstein and Fung had located the suspected vehicle and driver on the 100 block of Hearst Avenue. Immediately, the officers noticed that the driver had watery eyes, droopy eye lids and spoke with a slurred speech. As the officers continued to speak with the suspect, they could smell the odor of alcohol emanating from his breath. Believing the suspect was under the influence of alcohol, they conducted several Field Sobriety Tests, which the suspect failed. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to Ingleside Station and booked accordingly. Report Number: 130287104

City College Police Officer Zhadi was on foot patrol inside the Rosenburg Library when he was dispatched to the fourth floor regarding an indecent exposure call. Upon arrival, the officer detained the suspect who was pointed out by a staff member.  The officer then spoke to the victim, who said she was sitting across from the suspect, when she noticed him unzip his pants and started rubbing his genitals. The victim became annoyed and offended and quickly alerted the library staff, who in turn called the campus police. A computer check showed that the suspect is currently on federal parole and has an extensive arrest record. The suspect denied everything, but was ultimately cited for the offense and released. Report Number: 130287392

7:45pm       600 Blk Monterey                   Prohibited Weapon
City College Police Officers Edais and Wong were on patrol around the City College area when they decided to stop at a store to purchase some refreshments on the 600 block of Monterey Boulevard. The officers pulled in to the parking lot and parked next to a Blue Honda Accord. When Officer Edais exit his patrol car, he could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside that same vehicle. Officer Edais then approached the vehicle and asked the driver if he was in possession of any Marijuana. The driver admitted he had Marijuana and produced a jar full of the drug and stated he had just purchased the drug from a cannabis club. When asked if he had any weapons, the driver admitted to having a pocket knife inside his pants pocket. For officer safety, Officer Edais searched the driver and found the knife, which turned out to be an illegal weapon. The weapon found was an all in one Brass knuckle/switchblade combination. The driver was immediately arrested and booked on the illegal weapon. The Marijuana was seized from the driver as property for safe keeping, but not charged due to the fact that he had a valid medical Marijuana card. Report Number: 130288340

Serious Incidents:

2:55am       2600 Blk Bayshore                 Assault
Officers Zerga and Gabriel were on patrol when they were dispatched to a shooting call on the 2600 block of Bayshore Boulevard. Upon arrival, the officers met with the victim, who had been shot. Medics quickly responded and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. The Victim’s wife told the officers that a suspect, whom she thought was a customer, walked into their business and quickly made his way behind the counter. The suspect then produced a gun and pointed it at her demanding she open the cash register. Fearing for her safety, she complied with the suspect’s request.  Her husband heard the commotion and came out of the kitchen to see the suspect holding a gun towards his wife’s head. Worried about his wife’s safety, the husband/victim engaged the suspect in a physical altercation. During the altercation, the husband reached for a knife and may have possibly stabbed the suspect, while trying to push him out the store. The incident spilled out onto the sidewalk, where the suspect fired a couple shots striking the victim on his arm. The suspect fled the scene, last seen running Westbound on Sunnydale Avenue. The victim was treated at San Francisco General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released later in the day.

The San Francisco Police Department has put out a press release with concerns that the victim may have stabbed the suspect in the torso and believes his injuries are most likely critical and that he could die if he is not treated immediately.  If anyone has information on the suspect, they are encouraged to contact the police.  Report Number: 130285835

CRIME ALERT:  There has been an increase in auto boostings around Precita Park and the surrounding area.  Don’t be a Victim.
Take extra precautions to avoid a criminal window-shopping inside your car. Never give them a reason to break into your car and steal your belongings.

                                                          Safety Tips:
*Try to park in a well- lit area and always lock your doors and secure your windows.
*Do not leave possessions on the seat or in plain view.
*Never hide belongings under the seat: This is the first place burglars check.
*Never cover expensive items with an article of clothing or blanket:  This presents a hidden clue to thieves that items may be underneath.
*Do not leave any important documents inside your car that contain your personal information.
* Do not leave phone or MP3 chargers plugged in: this leads the burglar to believe there are expensive electronics inside your car.

Remember, if a criminal is unsuccessful and is not benefitting from his criminal activity, the thief will move on, thus making your neighborhood less of a target.
