Arrests:

10:30am     800 blk Bosworth                   Auto Burglary Arrest
Sgt Dare heard a call regarding a person breaking into a car close to the area where he was patrolling. He and several Ingleside units began responding to the area. Dispatch broadcast a description of the suspect as Sgt Dare was arriving to the location. Sgt Dare looked only a short distance away and there was the suspect! The suspect, still with fruits of the crime hanging from his shoulder, looked at the officer and tried to play it off. The suspect insisted that both backpacks were his and that he was on his way to the BART station. What the suspect did not know was that there were witnesses that had been the ones who called the crime in. theses witnesses were not going to allow this crook to do that in their neighborhood!
The witnesses gladly identified the suspect positively! The owner of the vehicle was contacted and identified one of the backpacks and contents (according to the suspect they were both his) as hers! This suspect broke into someone else’s car, stole property and then lied to the police (at least tried) will now be catching a ride to jail! Report number: 130007009. The fast response by Sgt Dare and the willingness of the witnesses to protect their neighborhood from thieves makes this…  ***The Best Arrest of the Day***

7:40pm       1700 blk Alabama                 Assault Arrest
Officers Hom and Cassinelli responded to an assault in progress near Precita Park. The officers arrived and located the victim. The victims face was swollen from a beating he had just received from a known suspect. The victim told the officers that a known suspect had engaged him in an argument and that with no warning, punched the victim in the face knocking him down to the floor. The suspect then got on top of the victim and continued punching him numerous times on the face. The victim told the officers that he never lost consciousness and was able to get to his feet. The victim tried to pull out a pocket knife to protect himself from the suspect. The suspect produced a knife as well. The victim ran out the door while hearing the suspect yell that he was going to kill him if he called the police.
The victim called the police! The suspect thinking that his threat was enough to dissuade the victim was still at the location of the assault when the officers arrived and handcuffed him. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and the suspect went to jail!. Report number 130008637
