2:24am Bosworth/Elk Weapon
Officer Chew was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle run the Red light at Bosworth and Elk Street. Officer Chew stopped the vehicle for the Red light violation and made contact with the driver and its passenger. A computer inquiry on the driver revealed his driver’s license to be suspended as well being on parole and having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officers Hauscarriague and Pedersen arrived on scene to assist and checked on the female passenger who was also on parole. Officer Chew placed the driver under arrest and proceeded to conduct a search on his person locating brass knuckles inside his front pants pocket. Officer Chew knew that brass knuckles are a prohibited deadly weapon. The passenger was released from the scene and the driver’s vehicle was towed as well. The driver was transported back to Ingleside Station where he was booked for the outstanding warrant, possession of an assault weapon and driving with a suspended license. Report Number 130054492.
5:50pm Cayuga/Tingley Warrant
Officers Johnson and Morse were on routine patrol when they observed two subjects riding their bicycles on the sidewalk in clear violation of the traffic code. They attempted to make contact with the subjects, but one decided to ignore them, and began riding in the opposite direction. The Officers followed the suspect in their patrol car until the suspect ditched the bicycle and decided to flee on foot. Officer Johnson exited and chased the suspect, while Officer Morse continued to follow in the patrol car. The suspect jumped a fence and into a backyard of a house on the unit block of Gorham Street. Officer Johnson requested additional assistance and set up a perimeter. During the search, it was believed the suspect had forced entry into a particular house on Gorham Street. It just so happened that the resident was coming home. The resident let the officers in to search her home. After a brief search, the officers located the suspect hiding under a bed in the lower level of the home. A computer check revealed the suspect was wanted on a parole violation. The suspect was taken into custody and then booked accordingly on numerous charges as well as the parole violation. Report Number 130056131.
