7:01pm Mission/Bosworth Drugs
Officer Preston stopped a driver for driving twice the speed limit while headed Northbound on Mission Street. The driver seemed nervous and officer Preston smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer Preston requested backup and additional officers responded to the scene. During a curbside interview, the driver admitted he had marijuana on his person and pulled out a plastic bag containing the substance. When asked if there was additional marijuana, the driver opened the vehicle’s trunk area showing the officers several additional plastic bags with marijuana along with a small scale. The driver did say he had a medical marijuana card but did not have it in his possession at this time. Based on the large quantity of drugs found during the traffic stop along with the scale, the driver was arrested for possession of narcotics for sale, transporting narcotics, and a violation of the vehicle code. Serious Incidents:
1:10am 1600 Blk Valencia Robbery
Officer Ma responded to a report of a street robbery and met with the victim who said an unknown suspect ran up behind him, brandishing a knife, telling him to “get on the ground and give me everything”. The victim, concerned for his safety, complied giving the robber his cell phone, bank and ID card. The suspect then ran away north on Valencia with the victim’s items. Additional officers unsuccessfully searched the area for the suspect. The victim was not injured during the robbery and said he would not be able to identify the suspect if he saw him again.
