7:36pm Mission/Geneva Weapons/Arrest
Officers Lim, Archilla and Yuen were on patrol when they noticed two subjects standing near a bus stop wearing gang affiliated clothing with jackets on and their hoods up. The officers thought this was very strange since it was 80 degrees outside and the suspects were not getting on any of the buses. The officers believed the suspects were casing for unsuspecting people who were at the bus stop and looked preoccupied. The officers now began to counter-surveil the suspects who stood near the bus stop as several busses came and left. The officers decided to approach the two suspects and asked them what they were doing. One of the suspects replied they were waiting for a bus. The officers quickly informed the suspect that they watched as several busses passed by without them getting on. A record check indicated that one of the suspects was on probation for… robbery! For public safety the officers decided to do a weapons search. As Officer Lim to search the suspect, he felt the handle of an object protruding from his waistband. When the officer went in to check, he discovered a concealed knife, a felony in California. The suspect was arrested, transported and booked at Ingleside Station along with the knife. Because of the attention to detail that these officers exhibited on these two would be criminals, a knife was confiscated, two suspect was taken to jail, and the citizens of Ingleside can rest a little bit easier knowing that two more criminals are in jail. And that is why, this is the ***Best Arrest of the day***
Serious Incidents:
1:00pm 4200 Blk Mission Robbery
Officer Sugitan and Fung responded to a call regarding a robbery. The victim informed the officers that he had been walking home when an unknown suspect came up from behind and grabbed him in a bear hug, knocking him onto the ground. The suspect picked up the victim off the ground and said “Give me your phone”. The suspect tried to break free but was unable to. Fearing that the suspect may harm him, the victim decided to hand over the phone. The suspect took the phone and ran down Alemany. The victim used the “Find my iPhone” application which led the officers to Mission and 7th street, but unfortunately, neither the suspect nor phone were found. The victim was taken back to his residence. Report Number 120839050.
4:00pm Geneva Robbery
Officers Shugars and Paras responded to a call of a robbery on a MUNI bus. The victim informed the officers that she had been reading a book on her iPad when an unknown suspect grabbed it from her and ran off the bus. The victim chased after the suspect and cornered him. The suspect then pushed the victim and said “I’ll cut you” and ran back towards the bus. The officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results. Fortunately, there was video footage of the incident and a copy was sent to Ingleside Station for further investigation. Report Number 120839549
5:00pm 900 Blk Geneva Robbery
Officers Paras and Shugars were dispatched to a robbery call. The victim stated that he had just exited the bus and began looking at his phone when two known suspects came up from behind and snatched the phone away from him. The suspects ran away as the victim chased after them. The victim was able to catch up and tackle one of the suspects and grab a hold of his phone as the two victims ran off. Possible footage may have caught the incident. Report Number 120839737
