Arrests:

4:08am       900 blk Geneva             Burglary Arrest
Officers Lozano and McCall responded to the 900 block of Geneva Avenue on a call of a burglary in progress. A witness/passerby saw two suspects using a pick axe trying to break into a jewelry store. As the officers arrived, they saw what appeared to be a hand-held flashlight beam coming from inside the darkened and closed business. The officers exited their patrol car to further investigate. As they got closer, a suspect ran from the store and in the direction of the officers. Officer Lozano tried to grab the suspect by his sweatshirt, but he was able to evade her grasp, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground. Officer McCall chased the fleeing suspect and several other Ingleside units responded to the area to assist.  The suspect was located a few blocks later and taken into custody.

Officers returned to the scene of the burglary and noticed a white vehicle with two individuals inside and numerous tools in plain view.  They had the occupants exit the vehicle for further investigation.  The 911 caller met with the officers and told them that he had observed the two suspects that were detained break into the store with some tools.  He positively identified both suspects as the two he had witnessed break into the store.  A records check of all three suspects was positive for outstanding warrants.  All three were arrested, transported and booked at Ingleside Station on orders of Sgt. Karp.  The vehicle was towed to the CSI investigation lot at the Hall of Justice for processing.
The owner of the jewelry store responded to the scene and believed there were items missing, but was unable to itemize them at the time.  Officers took pictures of the scene and seized items which were located at the scene that did not belong to the owner.  All evidence was booked at Ingleside station.

Officers were able to locate surveillance cameras in the area but the businesses were closed at the time.  Report Number 120834050. That is why this is  ***Best Arrest of The Day***
