Arrests:

3:35pm       3300 Blk Mission                    Shoplifting
Officers Fung and Sugitan responded to a report of theft.  The officers met with the witness who had a suspect detained.  The witness said he saw the suspect enter an aisle in the supermarket with a shopping cart.  The suspect put several items into the shopping cart and then moved on to another aisle.  He again placed several items into the cart and went to a third aisle where a second suspect was waiting.  Both suspects began placing the items into paper bags from a different store.  The suspects then placed the bags into two different shopping carts.  Each suspect pushed a cart out of the store, making no attempt to pay for the items.  The witness managed to detain the second suspect, but the first suspect fled.  The suspect was arrested for shoplifting.  Report 120369126

12:51am     5400 Blk Diamond Hghts       Battery
Officer Almaguer was dispatched to SFGH for a report of battery.  The victim told the officer that early in the evening, she exited the MUNI on Diamond Heights Blvd.  The victim began walking when she was approached by four suspects.  The first suspect asked the victim what her name was.  The victim attempted to ignore the suspect and continue walking.  The victim was suddenly grabbed and thrown to the ground.  On the ground, the suspects repeatedly kicked and punched the victim.  She briefly lost consciousness.  When she came to, the suspects had fled.  The victim went home and had her mother drive her to the hospital.  The victim suffered from a swollen nose, several small cuts and a chipped tooth from the incident.  Report 120370377

11:00am     Unit Blk Phelan Ave              Theft
SFCCPD Officer Smith took a report regarding theft.  The victim placed her purse inside her backpack and zipped the backpack closed.  The victim walked to her class while talking on her cell phone.  When she arrived at class, the victim realized that her backpack was open and her purse missing.  No one turned in her purse as found, so she cancelled her credit and debit cards.  Report 120368253

11:12am     100 Blk Highland Ave           Burglary
Officers Curry and Sanchez responded to a report of burglary.  The victim was inside her residence with the front door of her residence locked.  The victim went to leave her residence the following morning when she found new damage to her front door and lock.  The victim believes that the suspect attempted to gain entry into her residence, but was unable to because of a metal bar she uses as extra security on the door.  Report 120365419

12:32pm     600 Blk Sunnydale Ave         Theft
Officers Campion-Healy and Araujo were dispatched to a report of theft from a vehicle.  The victim parked his vehicle at his job site, but left it unlocked with the keys in the ignition.  The victim also left his backpack inside.  When the victim returned to his vehicle, he realized his backpack had been stolen.  The victim checked with other workers on the job site, but no one had seen his backpack.  Report 120348045

3:45pm       4600 Blk Mission St               Battery
PSA Flynn took a report regarding a battery.  The victim said she was walking when the suspect yelled a profanity at her.  The suspect was with a subject who told the victim she should fight the suspect.  The victim did not want to fight and refused.  The suspect attempted to punch the victim, but the victim was able to duck out of the way.  Three other witnesses pulled the victim inside a building to separate her from the suspect.  The victim and suspect have had altercations in the past.  Report 120369085

3:54pm       900 Blk Geneva Ave              Fraud
Officers Chew and Morrow were on patrol when they were flagged down by a victim.  The victim was notified by a pharmacist where he fills his prescriptions that a suspect attempted to pick a prescription that was in the victim’s name.  The pharmacist refused to provide any information to police.  The officers were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspect entering the pharmacy and attempting to get the prescription, which they seized as evidence.  Report 120369035

4:37pm       200 Blk Tingley St                 Tampering
Officer Chew was dispatched to a report of vandalism.  The victim had parked her vehicle across the street from her home.  The following day, the victim returned to the vehicle and found a white, powdery substance on the ground below the gas tank. The victim opened the gas tank and found white powder inside the gas tank.  The substance appeared to be baking soda and did not cause any obvious damage to the vehicle.  Report 120369358

7:57am       Unit Blk 28th St                      Theft
Officer Almaguer was dispatched to a report of theft.  The victim told the officer that he had left his bicycle in the entryway of his residence, behind a locked metal gate.  Upon his return from work, the bicycle was gone.  There were no signs of forced entry.  Report 120369922

10:25pm     300 Blk Alemany Blvd           Dog Bite
Officers Benavidez and Lustenberger responded to a report of a dog bite.  The witness left her apartment with her dog to go for a walk.  When she got to the bottom of the stair, she saw the victim talking to her neighbor.  The victim attempted to pet her dog, but the witness advised him not to pet him since he can be protective and aggressive towards strangers.  The witness believed that the victim might have been intoxicated because she could smell alcohol emanating from his person.  The victim ignored the warning and tried to touch the dog.  The witness handed the leash to her cousin and asked her to bring the dog back inside.  The cousin was unable to gain entry back into the apartment and came back downstairs with the dog.  The victim again got close to the dog and tried to touch it.  This time, the dog bit the victim in the arm.  The witness did not observe any visible injury on the victim, but drove him to the hospital as a precaution.  The witness then reported the incident to the police.

The officers responded to the hospital in an attempt to locate the victim.  The officers were advised that the victim had been treated for scratch marks on his arm, but that there were no puncture wounds.  The victim had already left the hospital.  The officers responded to the victim’s residence, but were unable to contact him.  Report 120370292

11:08pm     200 Blk Niagara Ave             Vandalism
Officers Contreras and Jones were dispatched to a report of vandalism.  The victim parked and left her vehicle unattended while she went to an appointment.  Upon her return, the victim discovered that the front passenger window had been shattered.  Nothing was missing from inside the vehicle.  Report 120370220
