Arrests:

1:37pm       Velasco & Santos St               Weapon
Officers Johnson and Obot were on patrol when they spotted a suspect standing near a bus stop.  The officers immediately recognized the suspect from prior police contact.  The officers believed that the suspect had an outstanding warrant, which they confirmed through a records check.  The officers parked and exited their vehicle, making contact with the suspect.  Officer Obot took possession of the suspect’s purse and conducted a transport/arrest search.  When the officer opened the purse, he saw a revolver concealed inside.  The officers seized the weapon, which was booked at Ingleside Station.  The suspect was arrested and booked at Ingleside Station.  Report 120371751

2:00pm       Sgt. John V. Young Lane       Warrant
Officers Burke and Campos pulled an active warrant for a suspect.  The officers attempted to contact the suspect at his residence, but he was not home.  The suspect later called Officer Campos, and they arranged a time for the suspect to turn himself in.  The suspect arrived at Ingleside Station and turned himself in for the outstanding warrant.  Report 120248655

5:52pm       Unit Blk Precita Ave               Narcotics
Officers Campos, Burke and Tam were working in plain clothes.  The officers spotted a suspect why they had all had prior police contact with.  The officers were aware that the suspect was on probation with a search condition.  The officers approached the suspect, displaying their stars and identifying themselves as police officers.  A records check confirmed that the suspect was still on probation.  The suspect appeared nervous and was sweating.  The suspect admitted to the officers that he had been using methamphetamines.  He told the officers that he had the narcotic in the car, but insisted it was for personal use only.  The officers recovered several small baggies containing a crystal-like white substance, consistent with methamphetamine.  The officers did not find any evidence of personal narcotic ingestion, such as a pipe.  The suspect was arrested for possession of narcotics for sale.  Report 120372442

7:06pm       800 Blk Ocean Ave                  Burglary
SFCCPD Officer Edais was on patrol when he spotted a possible suspect from a burglary.  The suspect spotted the officer and began to run.  The officer exited his vehicle and ordered the suspect to stop.  The suspect stopped and told the officer that he had a bullet as he held up a .45 caliber bullet.  The suspect was also holding a laptop wrapped in a sweatshirt. The officer took the laptop out of the suspect’s hands and placed it on the floor before handcuffing him pending further investigation. The officer asked the suspect for permission to search his pockets, and the suspect agreed.  The suspect was in possession of several credit cards that belonged to a female.  The suspect also had several cell phones in his possession.  A records check confirmed that the female was a victim of theft earlier in the day.  The suspect claimed that the cards belonged to his girlfriend, but that he didn’t know her name.  The suspect was also unable to provide a required password for the laptop that he had in his possession.  The officers contacted the victim who responded to the scene.  The victim was able to identify several of the items in the suspect’s possession as belonging to her.  The suspect was arrested.  Report 120371858

9:08am       Brazil & Mission St                  Battery
Officer Walsh was contacted by the victim regarding a battery.  The victim smelled strongly of alcohol.  The victim told the officers that he had been “beat up” by four suspects the night before.  The victim was unable to provide the officer with any other information.  An ambulance was summoned.  The medics transported the victim to SFGH.  Report 120370822

9:46am       700 Blk Morse St                      Firearm discharged
Officers Wong and Pai were dispatched to a report of a possible bullet hole in a window.  The reportee showed the officers a window with a hole that appeared to have been caused by a bullet.  The officers were unable to locate a bullet casing, and were unable to contact any witnesses.  Report 120370929

12:19pm     Unit Blk Brookdale Ave           Firearm
Officers Obot and Johnson were on patrol when they were alerted to possible gunfire.  The officers contacted two witnesses.  The first witness told the officers that she saw two suspects standing on the corner in front of her residence.  Shortly after, she heard four gun shots and saw a vehicle fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.  The second witness confirmed the story.  The officers were able to locate a third witness who provided further information.  The officers were unable to locate any bullet casings.  Report 120371541

4:57pm       3300 Blk Mission St                  Theft
Officers Lim and Chew were dispatched to a report of theft from a vehicle.  Dispatch advised the officers of a description of the suspect.  While en route, the suspect fled the scene.  The officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim.  The victim had parked his car in a parking lot so he could go shopping.  When he returned to his vehicle, he found one of the windows was smashed and several of his personal belongings were missing.  The officers were unable to contact the witness, as they wished to remain anonymous.  Report 120372232

5:47pm       Unit Blk Campbell Ave            Burglary
Officers Antonian and Quintero responded to a report of a burglary.  The victim secured all doors and windows before leaving his residence.  When the victim returned home, he used his key to unlock his metal gate.  As he approached his front door, he noticed damage around the door knob.  The victim used his key to open the front door and enter his residence.  The inside of his residence was ransacked.  Several of the victim’s personal items had been stolen.  The officers conducted a walk-through of the residence, but the suspect had already fled.  Report 120372577
