Ingleside Station Captain Message:

Emerging/Recent Crime Trends—There was a spike in thefts on MUNI buses this past weekend where victims were robbed of their cell phones and Ipads.  If you ride the bus alone, please keep your electronics tucked away and hidden so as to not be an attractant to thieves.

Other incidents:  

4:00am                4200 Blk Mission          Burglary
Officers Dominguez and McCall were sent to investigate a burglary.  They met with the reportee who advised that he arrived at work and found the rear door of the premise damaged and ajar.  The officers did a walk through of the building and found it empty.  They were able to view surveillance video of the suspect entering and exiting the building.  Nothing appeared to be disturbed or missing from inside, according to the reportee.  The officers were unable to locate any physical evidence and therefore did not contact CSI.  The officers provided the reportee with follow up information and requested a copy of the surveillance video for the investigative team.  Report 120407776

7:45am                400 Blk Moscow           Vandalism
A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Flynn that she parked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found the convertible top slashed and various scratches on the body.  She was unable to provide any suspect information and was provided with follow up information.  Report 120409590

1:00pm                Unit Blk Phelan            Theft
SFCCPD Officer Hadi was sent to a theft.  The reportee advised that he was working in one of the rooms when he placed his tools on a table and walked away for a few minutes.  When he returned, he found the tools missing.  He was unable to provide any suspect information and there were no cameras in the room which may have captured the incident.  The officer provided him with follow up information.  Report 120408768

5:05pm                4300 Blk Mission           Robbery
Officers Labutan and Pereira were on patrol when they were dispatched to a robbery on a MUNI bus.  The victim advised that she was sitting on the bus holding her cellular phone in her hand.  When the bus came to a stop at Silver and Mission, two female suspects grabbed the phone from the victim’s hand and ran off of the bus.  The victim and a friend followed the suspects off of the bus and lost sight of them.  They were not injured and did not believe they could recognize the women if they saw them again.  The officers provided them with follow up information.  They searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspects.  They contacted MUNI dispatch and ordered a copy of the surveillance video.  Report 120409619

6:00pm                4700 Blk Mission          Tire Slashing
Officer Morrow was dispatched to a vandalism of a vehicle.  The victim advised that she parked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found two of the tires had been slashed and various scratches on the vehicle.  She was unable to provide any further information and was provided with follow up information.  The officer took pictures of the damage and booked them into evidence at Ingleside station.  Report 120408661

7:12pm                100 Blk Lawrence         Threats
Officers Baldovino and Hauscarriague responded to a threats call.  The victim told them that she had been receiving text messages of a threatening nature from an ex-roommate.  She wanted the incident documented because she said she is afraid of the suspect and that she still has keys to the apartment.  The officer made copies of the text messages which he booked into evidence.  He provided the victim with information on how to obtain a responding order and gave her follow up information.  Report 120410393

7:26pm                Unit Blk Phelan            Robbery
SFCCPD Officer Green was sent to investigate a robbery with a gun.  The victim advised that she was sitting in one of the classrooms playing games on an I-Pad when a male suspect entered the room, pointed a gun at her and told her to give him the phone.  The victim refused and the male hit her on the side of her head with the gun.  The victim fell from on the ground, the suspect grabbed the phone from her and ran out of the room.  Various witnesses in the area provided a description of the suspect and his direction of travel. Several Ingleside units responded and searched the area to no avail.

The victim complained of pain to her head area and dizziness.  An ambulance was summoned to assist her.  She refused to be transported and was provided with follow up information.  Officers attempted to track the cellular phone with negative results.  Report 120417042

10:30pm              Folsom/Tompkins         Auto Boost
A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Flynn that he parked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found a window smashed, the interior vandalized and several items missing.  He was unable to provide any suspect information and was given follow up information.  The PSA inspected the vehicle for fingerprint evidence to no avail.  Report 120409625
