Emerging/Recent Crime Trends—There was a spike in thefts on MUNI buses this past weekend where victims were robbed of their cell phones and Ipads. If you ride the bus alone, please keep your electronics tucked away and hidden so as to not be an attractant to thieves.

Arrests:
12:10pm Mansell/John F. Shelly Stolen Property
Officer Duncan and several other Ingleside officers were dispatched to the call of a stolen cellular phone. The victim had her cellular phone stolen while riding a MUNI bus. She called her cellular phone and the suspect demanded money. The victim and a family member agreed to meet at a mutual location and when they confronted the suspect, he refused to return the phone. In a struggle with the suspect, the family member was bitten and punched in the face. As officers arrived on scene, the victims had the suspect on the ground and the officers attempted to handcuff him. The victim identified her cellular phone as it fell out of the suspect’s pocket. The officers took pictures of the cellular phone and the family member’s injuries as evidence. They were provided with follow up information. An ambulance was summoned and treated his injuries
The suspect complained of chest pain and was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment. A record check revealed he was on active probation. At the instruction of Sgt. Sarkissian, he was booked at the county jail. Report 120406154

0:01am 4800 Blk Mission Theft
Officer Muro was sent to investigate a burglary. The victim advised that he locked and secured the storage unit in his garage area and when he returned found the door had been taken off of the hinges and various items missing. He was unable to provide any suspect information and there was no sign of forced entry. The officer took pictures of the damage as evidence and provided him with follow up information. There were no video surveillance cameras in the area. CSI was not contacted due to the lack of printable evidence. Report 120405112
2:04am 4700 Blk Mission Battery
A reportee responded to Ingleside station and told Officer Contreras that a few days prior he had been assaulted by various individuals at a nightclub after making a comment toward a female patron. Officer Contreras had responded to the incident earlier in the week where there were no injuries and all parties refused further police action. The victim said he now wanted the incident documented and was provided with follow up information. Report 120406938
7:30am 400 Blk Miguel Burglary
Officer Preston was dispatched to a burglary. The victim advised that she locked and secured her apartment and when she returned found the front door had been kicked in. She said some items were missing and that she did not give anyone permission to enter the home. The officer could find no other sign of forced entry and determined the front door to be the area where the suspect entered and exited. He took pictures of the damage and booked them into evidence at Ingleside station. He provided the victim with follow up information and was unable to locate any fingerprints or physical evidence. There were no security cameras nearby that may have captured the incident. Report 120406938
10:23apm 200 Blk Addison Vandalism
Officer Muro was sent to investigate a vandalism. The victim advised that he allowed a friend to stay in the home a few days and had asked her to leave. The suspect was upset, and the victim said she vandalized the bedroom area where she was staying. The suspect denied doing any damage to the property and the officers were unable to determine if any vandalism had been committed. At the instruction of Sgt. Sarkissian, the suspect was advised and left the premises. The victim was provided with follow up information. Report 120405601
