Ingleside Station Captain Message:

Emerging/Recent Crime Trends—There was a spike in thefts on MUNI buses this past weekend where victims were robbed of their cell phones and Ipads.  If you ride the bus alone, please keep your electronics tucked away and hidden so as to not be an attractant to thieves.

Arrests:

12:53pm              5000 Blk Mission St               Battery
Officers Sullivan and Padilla responded to a report of a battery.  The victim told the officers that she was working when a vehicle pulled in the parking lot.  The vehicle was violating a parking restriction, and the victim approached it to inform them.  The occupants of the vehicle became enraged.  One of them exited the vehicle and followed the victim back in to the store.  The suspect cussed at the victim and picked up merchandise in an aggressive manner, as if she was going to throw it at the victim.  The victim feared for her safety and called 911.  While on the phone, the suspect spit in the victim’s face.  As the officer interviewed the victim, the suspect involved returned to the vehicle, and the victim pointed her out as the person involved in the incident.  The suspect was detained and later cited for battery.  Report 120399985

12:11am              Diamond & Diamond Hgts     Robbery, Att.
Officers Anderson and Ferronato were dispatched to a report of a possible robbery, which reportedly took place with a gun.  Several Ingleside units responded to the area in search of two suspects, but they were unable to locate them.  The officers met with the victim, who was extremely shaken from the incident.  The victim said that she was in her vehicle stopped at a stop sign.  A suspect walked in front of her vehicle and a second suspect approached the driver side window.  The second suspect pointed a gun at her.  The victim sped off and immediately called 911.  Because the victim was so upset, she was unable to provide any further information regarding the incident.  Report 120401831

3:34am                1500 Blk Treat Ave                  Burglary
Officers Hauscarriague and Anderson responded to burglary report.  A witness reported seeing a suspect wheeling an appliance out of a nearby residence. The witness told the officers that the residence was for sale and that several people had been in an out of the house recently to view it.  The officers located a washing machine place on a dolly a couple blocks down the street from the residence.  The officers brought the machine back to the residence and placed it inside.  There, they found evidence that the suspect had pried his way in through the front door to gain entry.  The officers attempted to contact the owners of the residence to no avail.  Report 120399258

11:49am              500 Blk Madrid St                   Vandalism
PSA Zabarte took a report regarding vandalism to a vehicle.  The victim parked and secured his vehicle, leaving it in good condition.  Upon his return, the victim discovered the rear window on the vehicle had been shattered.  There was no other damage and no entry made.  Report 120399753

1:37pm                100 Blk Lee St                          Harassment
PSA Zabarte took a report regarding harassing phone calls and false personation.  The victim had received several unwanted phone calls from the suspect.  The victim had met the suspect when the victim used his psychic services.  The victim soon realized that the suspect was a fraud, and wished to cease their contact.  The suspect grew angry at the victim’s decision and began harassing him for money.  The victim later discovered that two cell phone accounts had been opened in his name, and he believed the suspect might be responsible for the fraudulent accounts.  The victim was advised to seek a restraining order.  Report 120400037

3:32pm                Unit Blk Leo St                        Burglary
Officers Padilla and Sullivan were dispatched to a report of burglary.  The victim locked and secured her doors upon leaving her residence.  When she returned, she noticed her bedroom door was open.  As she walked through the premise, she realized that several items had been stolen.  She found a bedroom window open as well.  There were no obvious signs of forced entry.  Report 120400491

7:29pm                100 Blk Valdez Ave                  Mischief
Officer Chan responded to a report of a broken window.  The victim looked outside his kitchen window and saw a suspect urinating on his neighbor’s house.  The victim yelled to the suspect to “have some class!”  The suspect turned to the victim and flipped him off using his middle finger and taunted the victim to go outside.  The suspect then picked up some object and threw it at the kitchen window, which shattered.  The suspect fled.  Report 120401148

11:11pm              3700 San Bruno Ave                 Theft
Officers Hauscarriague and Pedersen were dispatched to a call regarding theft from a vehicle.  The victim parked her vehicle and secured it.  When she returned, the passenger side window had been smashed and the stereo stolen from inside.  Report 120401706
