Please note that the Highland Street Bridge will be closed from March 9-16.  The Richland Street Bridge will be closed from March 16-23 for construction.


Arrests:

4:20pm       3300 Blk Mission          Shoplifting
Officer Preston was sent to investigate a theft.  He spoke with the reportee who told him that he observed a woman enter the store and place items inside her jacket.  She exited the store passing all open registers without making any attempt to pay for the items.  The reportee detained her outside the store, and escorted her back inside.  He signed a citizen’s arrest to have the subject cited for the theft.  The suspect was unable to provide proof of identification and was therefore transported to Ingleside station pending further investigation.  Officer Preston provided the reportee with follow up information.

At Ingleside station, the suspect’s identity was confirmed through the SFPD Mug Shot system, and the suspect was cited and released.  Officer Preston booked all property at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120190341


Other incidents:  

8:00am       900 Blk Ellsworth         Theft
Officers Hopkins, Trail and Peregoy were dispatched to a theft from a vehicle.  The victim stated that he parked his vehicle but was unsure if he locked it.  He later received a call from his daughter who told him that his vehicle had been broken into.  The victim responded and found his doors open and items missing.  There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle.  Officer Trail lifted various fingerprints which were placed on a CD for evidence and the victim was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120186180

10:30am     Unit Blk Winfield          Burglary
Officer Trujillo was dispatched to investigate a burglary. The victim told him that he left his home a while ago due to construction.  He secured various belongings inside a desk.  He returned a few months later and found several items missing.  He was unable to provide the officers with further information, but stated that several individuals working on the home had access and keys.  Due to the lack of physical evidence, and possible contamination of the desk area by dust and various individuals who had access to the home, Crime Scene Investigations did not respond.  The victim was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120189219

12:00pm     100 Blk Ney                  Fraud
A victim responded to Ingleside station and advised PSA Cato that she received a letter from AT&T stating that an account had been opened in her name.  When she contacted AT&T and told them she did not authorize such an account, they requested that she file a police report.  She provided PSA Cato with a copy of the letter which she booked into evidence at Ingleside station.  The victim was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120190868

12:00pm     400 Blk Silver               Theft, Burglary
A victim responded to Ingleside station and advised PSA Cato that she parked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found her window smashed and several items missing.  She also told PSA Cato that before the vehicle had been broken into she had locked and secured her residence and later found items missing in her home as well.  She was unable to locate any sign of forced entry to the home.  The victim merely wanted the incidents documented and she was unable to provide any suspect information.  PSA Cato provided her with follow up information.  Report Number 120189996

12:30pm     3900 Blk Folsom           Vandalism
Officers Chan and Gomez responded to a vandalism.  The victim told them that he locked and secured his home and when he returned found it had been vandalized.  The victim said that there has been repeated incidents of this but never reported it.  He was unable to provide any suspect information and was provided with follow up information.  The officers took pictures of the damage and booked them into evidence at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120190335

1:00pm       100 Blk Precita             Burglary
Officer Najarro was sent to a burglary.  The victim told him that she locked and secured her bicycle inside her apartment’s garage area but was uncertain if she had closed the garage.  She returned and found the bicycle missing. She was unable to provide any suspect information and wanted the incident documented.  She was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120189231

1:00pm       Unit Blk Phelan            Theft
SFCCPD Officer Chang was investigating a theft which had occurred in the library.  The victim stated that he was making copies when he was approached by several males who asked him if he was finished.  When the victim returned to the area where he was sitting he noticed several of his items, including his cellular phone, missing.  He tracked the cellular phone to an address and various Ingleside officers responded to assist in a search.  The residents provided the officers with consent to search and the cellular phone was not located.  They responded to another area where the cellular phone was tracked but the tracking device suddenly shut off.  The victim provided a detailed description of the suspects and said that he could identify them if he saw them again.  The officers searched unsuccessfully for the suspects.  Officer Chang provided him with follow up information.  Report Number 120152169

7:30pm       700 Blk Moscow           Theft
Officers Quintero and Dilag were on patrol when they were sent to a theft which had occurred in a park.  They met with the victims who told them they left their belongings behind one of the goals on the field and were playing soccer.  When they returned, they found all of their items missing.  They did not see anyone take the items and said there were no witnesses to the theft.  They were provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120190987

7:45pm       500 Blk Moultrie          Burglary
Officer Najarro responded to a burglary.  The reportee advised that she locked and secured the premises and when the custodian entered the premises this morning he found juice had been spilt all over the floor area.  The reportee arrived on scene and was informed by the janitor that he found juice all over the floor.  She told him when she left and secured the building the area was clean.  She then noticed several rooms had been rummaged through and items missing.  Neither she nor Officer Najarro could locate any sign of forced entry into the building.  The reportee told him that she believes someone is accessing the premises with a key because there have been several similar incidents recently.  She was unable to provide any further information and Officer Najarro provided her with follow up information.  Because the custodian had already cleaned all of the areas in question, SFPD Crime Scene Investigations Unit was not contacted.  Report Number 120189065

Officer Morrow was dispatched to a vandalism.  The victim told him that she parked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found her window had been smashed.  She was unable to provide the officer with any suspect description and there were no witnesses.  Officer Morrow took pictures of the damaged vehicle and provided her with follow up information.  Report Number 120189015
