Arrests:

9:55am       4900 Blk Mission           Battery
Officers Naval and Chew were dispatched to investigate a report that a woman had been assaulted. After arriving on scene, the Officers identified a female victim and a male suspect. The victim told the Officers that the suspect approached her and began lecturing her about smoking a cigarette. They began arguing and the suspect slapped the victim across the face. Then the suspect took off running down the street. The victim was not seriously injured but did sign a citizen’s arrest for the suspect. The officers located someone who matched the description of the suspect shortly thereafter and the victim positively identified him as the man that had hit her.  The suspect was then issued a citation and released at the scene. 12:01pm     Unit Blk Ocean             Trespassing
Officers Escobar and Naval were dispatched to a bank because a customer was refusing to leave. The Officers were informed by the manager that she could not meet the needs that the customer demanded and that he refused to leave. The manager wanted the customer arrested for trespassing. The Officers tried to inform the customer that if he did not leave then he would be arrested, but the customer refused to leave. Officers arrested the customer and booked him for trespassing at Ingleside Station. Report number 120017842

4:50pm       200 Blk Leland             Battery
Officers Sugitan and Fung were dispatched to investigate a woman that claimed to have been assaulted in a park. The Officers were told by the victim that she was in a verbal argument with a female suspect when all of a sudden the female attacked her. She was hit multiple times in the face and body and the suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.  The victim was able to write down the suspect’s license plate number when she fled the scene.  The Officers responded to the residence where the vehicle was registered where they located the suspect.  The victim was brought to the scene where she positively identified the suspect as the person who had assaulted her.  The victim signed a citizen’s arrest form and the suspect was then transported to Ingleside Station and booked for the battery. 12:01am     300 Blk Banks               Theft
PSA Cato was working at Ingleside Station when a citizen came in and reported that several items had been taken from her house. The victim told the Officer that while she was away on vacation a known male entered her house and stole several thousands of dollars and some jewelry. The victim was told by her children who the suspect that entered the house was and told her that he had been in the residence while she was away.  There were no signs of forced entry into the premises.  Report number 120020914

9:00am       400 Blk Valley               Fraud
Officers Naval and Chew were dispatched to investigate fraudulent credit card charges. The Officers were told by the victim that she received text messages from the credit card company that several charges were being made to her account in different countries. The victim still had the card in her possession and was advised to contact the credit card company.  She was provided with follow up information.  Report number 120020572

10:30am     1800 Blk Geneva           Burglary
Officer Marino was dispatched to a storage area that had been burglarized. The owner of the storage room told the Officer that she was notified by phone that the storage room had been broken into. When she arrived, she noticed that the main door was forced open and several other individual rooms were broken into. A witness noticed a male suspiciously hanging around the area before it was broken into. The witness was unable to provide the Officers with any other information about the suspect and was provided with follow up information. The officers took pictures at the scene and booked them into evidence.  Report number 120023372

11:25am     200 Blk Gold Mine       Attempted Burglary
Officers Chew and Lim were dispatched to investigate a residence that had been broken into. The victim stated that when he returned home he noticed that his house door was severely damaged. When he left his house, he noticed a suspect sitting in a vehicle outside. The suspect never made entry because the dead bolts were all still locked.  The victim said that no items were missing and was provided with follow up information.  The officers took pictures of the damages and booked them into evidence.  Report number 120020265

3:00pm       Unit Blk Trumbull       Theft
Officer Barajas was dispatched to investigate a burglary from a vehicle. When the Officer arrived on scene, the victim stated that he parked his vehicle in the garage and when he returned the next day his wallet was missing from inside. The victim said that he often does not lock his vehicle when it is in the garage. The victim was also contacted by the bank that advised him there were several fraudulent transactions made with his debit card. Two surveillance cameras are positioned outside the apartment building but the building manager was unavailable at the time to view the tapes.  The officers requested the manager provide them with a copy of the video footage for further follow up.  They provided the victim with follow up information.  Report number 120023297

4:00pm       1700 Blk Dolores          Theft
Officer Coles was dispatched to investigate a theft at a residence. The victim told the Officer that his bike was stolen from inside an unlocked garage. There were no surveillance cameras and no witnesses were found. The Officer advised the victim to secure the door with a dead bolt and provided him with follow up information. 7:58pm       4500 Blk Mission          Vandalism
Officer Shugars was dispatched regarding the vandalism of a vehicle. The victim told the Officer that while he was in a restaurant the mirror on his vehicle was smashed and was not hanging from electrical wires. A witness stated that he observed a man walking down the street smash the mirror with his elbow then continue walking down the street. The witness believed the man to be homeless and said they could identify him if he saw him again. Report number 120021649

8:13pm       200 Blk Banks              Fraud
Officers Leong and Castillo were dispatched to a residence regarding unauthorized credit card charges. The victim told the officers that a known suspect has been making charges on his credit card without his consent. The victim has a restraining order against the individual but has not had any contact with him.  He was provided with follow up information.  Report number 120021768

8:50pm       400 Blk San Jose          Vandalism
PSA Cato was working at Ingleside Station when the victim of a suspicious occurrence reported a crime. The victim told the Officer that while he was driving down San Jose Ave. a Christmas tree was thrown from the overpass and landed in front of his vehicle. The victim did not have time to stop and was forced to run over it. There was significant damage done to the bottom of his vehicle. The victim did not see who threw the tree and was provided with follow up information.  Report number 120020936

9:35pm       1800 Blk Sunnydale     Robbery
Officers Gabriel and Apodaca were dispatched to investigate a robbery. The Officers made contact with the victim and were told that while he was working as a cab driver he was approached by a male suspect. The suspect pulled a gun out of his waistband and forced the victim to give him his wallet.  The victim then grabbed a GPS from inside of the cab and ran off down the street. There were two witnesses but the victim said they fled the scene after they saw the gun. The video camera inside the cab might be able to provide the Officers with a picture of the suspect but the video was unavailable at the time.  The officers ordered a copy of the video and provided the victim with follow up information.  Report number 120019127
