Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

900 Blk Ellsworth St
Officers Hopkins and Duffin were on patrol when they spotted a suspect acting suspiciously.  The officers were very familiar with the residents in the area they were in and did not recognize the suspect.  The suspect made eye contact with the officers.  The suspect began to walk away from the officers by ducking in between building lines.  The officers exited the vehicle and made contact with the suspect.  The suspect gave the officers a name that did not come back with any results.  The suspect told the officers that he was visiting from Alaska, but there were no records to verify that information. The suspect finally admitted that he had lied about his name because he’s on parole with an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  The suspect was taken into custody.  Report 110998995

Unit Blk Cordova St
Officers Hurwitz, Elton and Rueca were on patrol in an area known for narcotic activity.  The officers spotted a vehicle idling with two passengers inside.  The officers recognized the passenger from prior police contact who was on probation.  The officers approached the vehicle and saw the driver of the vehicle shove an item in between the front seat and center console.  A records check of the driver revealed that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.  The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a clear plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamines.  The driver was arrested for the warrant and possession of suspect narcotics.  The passenger was released at the scene.  Report 111000832
