Officer Bear responded to the area to meet with victims of a robbery on a MUNI train. Victim spoke minimal English and was accompanied by a friend (also a victim) who was able to communicate in English. They advised that they boarded the train and three other males who they know from school also boarded the train and sat next to them. One of the suspects suddenly confronted victim and forcefully grabbed his Ipod from him. The suspect then handed the Ipod to another suspect who the victim recognized but was unaware of his name. A third suspect then grabbed the victim from behind to grab the earbuds from him which were ripped apart when victim attempted to pull them back. Victims asked repeatedly in a nice manner that the suspects return the Ipod. The third suspect then told victim he would return it but was going to beat him up. The victims felt threatened and remained silent. They all exited the railway and the suspects boarded another bus and the victims said they could identify them if they saw them again.
A few hours later, Officer Bear again responded to a similar attempted robbery on a MUNI bus. Because the detailed description of the suspects was somewhat similar to the above incident she requested one of the victims respond to the area of Mansell and Visitacion to see if they could make a positive identification for a possible arrest.
