4:06pm               Mansell/Visitacion     Robbery
Officers Tam and Padilla responded to a robbery which had occurred on a MUNI bus.  They located a victim who was able to provide suspect(s) description and Officer Tam radioed in the description to dispatch.  Officers Hurwitz and Daggett arrived to assist and were able to locate additional victims to the robbery.  Officer Padilla was then approached by another male who claimed to also have been robbed on the bus.  The individual was in the company of two other males who were standing behind him.  Officer Hurwitz then advised Officer Tam that it was possible that the last three males that Officer Padilla came into contact with were possible suspects in the robbery.  The initial victim advised the officers that his Ipod had been taken forcefully from his hands by a suspect who was not present at the scene.  The victim said that the suspect then threw the Ipod to the individual who Officer Padilla was speaking with.  The victim identified all three individuals who Officer Padilla was speaking with as those who were involved in taking his Ipod.  The victim said that after his Ipod was taken from him he was thrown to the ground.  He stated that various individuals on the bus attempted to assist him but were also assaulted.  All three suspects were advised of their Miranda rights and Officer Tam spoke with one of the suspects.  The suspect denied any involvement and later recanted his statement when he was informed that there was a possible MUNI video which had recorded the incident. The suspect then stated a friend of his took the Ipod forcefully from the victim and then passed it to him and he passed it to others.  He denied any further involvement.  Two other possible suspects were interviewed by the officers who denied being involved in the robbery but admitted to being on the bus.  Various witnesses were interviewed who stated that they attempted to assist someone who was being robbed on the bus and one of the witnesses was also punched in the face.  Items were also taken from her person. One particular victim also identified one of the suspects as the one who had assaulted her.  The victim identified another suspect as the one who had assisted in the taking of his Ipod.  All victims refused medical assistance and the two identified suspects were booked accordingly.  Report 110295597  ***BEST ARREST OF THE DAY***
