SFPD and San Francisco Planning are
working with the operators of the radio tower at the top of Bernal Hill to make
security (e.g. fencing upgrades and cameras) and landscaping improvements. This tower
hosts antennas for both commercial systems as well as those used for
communications by first responders (police and firefighters). The
improvements are currently underway by American Tower. The
lighting will also be adjusted and placed on a motion-sensor.
We would welcome your help in being an extra set
of eyes and ears to discourage vandalism or potential disruption to crucial
police and fire communications. If you see something suspicious, please call
police dispatch at (415) 553-0123 or in an emergency call (415) 553-8090.
If you have questions about
tower itself, please contact the Wireless Planner, Omar Masry, at (415)
575-9116, or Omar.Masry@sfgov.org

Blk Holladay Stolen Vehicle
A man woke up to the sound of car doors slamming and went
to his window to see what was causing the noise. He dialed 911 when he noticed
a man sifting through the contents of a car parked on the street. Ingleside Officers
Wong, Sandoval, Franeschi, Curry, and Trujillo responded and detained the
suspect who claimed the vehicle, with Oklahoma plates, belonged to a friend.
However, it was a rental car that was reported stolen. A backpack, in the back
seat, belonging to the victim contained a cornucopia of narcotics, including
Ecstacy, Methamphetamine, heroin, and an unknown purple and brown powder. He
also had burglary tools, several sets of keys, a baton and a butterfly knife in
the backpack. The suspect was booked for a variety of narcotics charges and vehicle
theft. Report number: 150976462

Blk Mission D.U.I
Officers Custudio and Kikuchi were on patrol driving down
Geneva Avenue when they witnessed another vehicle make a sharp turn in front of
them and almost colliding into another vehicle. The officers then noticed the
vehicle continue on at a high rate of speed. The officers followed the vehicle
and immediately tried to pull the vehicle over. It seemed as if the driver
tried to ignore the officers’ attempts and continued driving down Mission
Street. Suddenly, the driver made an abrupt U-turn and pulled into a parking
space. As the officers approached the vehicle, the driver turned off the engine
and threw her keys out the window. The officer immediately smelled the distinct
odor of alcohol emanating from inside the vehicle. They had the driver step out
of the car, but she stumbled and was very unstable on her feet. Due to the
level of intoxication, the officer were unable to administer a field sobriety
test. After being checked out at the local hospital, the driver was charged and
booked for driving under the influence. Report Number: 150978979
