The next Ingleside community meeting will be held at the Bernal
Heights Neighborhood Center on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 7p.m.

SFPD and San Francisco Planning are
working with the operators of the radio tower at the top of Bernal Hill to make
security (e.g. fencing upgrades and cameras) and landscaping improvements. This tower
hosts antennas for both commercial systems as well as those used for
communications by first responders (police and firefighters). The
improvements are currently underway by American Tower. The
lighting will also be adjusted and placed on a motion-sensor.
We would welcome your help in being an extra set
of eyes and ears to discourage vandalism or potential disruption to crucial
police and fire communications. If you see something suspicious, please call
police dispatch at (415) 553-0123 or in an emergency call (415) 553-8090.
If you have questions about
tower itself, please contact the Wireless Planner, Omar Masry, at (415)
575-9116, or Omar.Masry@sfgov.org
Arrests:
5:50am Mission/Onondaga Robbery
This is the first chapter in a series of three robberies
committed by the same group of suspects in the same area within a few hours. As
related to Ingleside Officers Chang and Lim, it began when a man walking to
work on Onondaga, between Mission and Alemany, noticed he was being followed by
two men and a woman. As he neared the bus stop on Mission, the trio approached
him and one of the suspects produced a handgun and demanded his property. The
victim surrendered a cell phone he was carrying in one hand to one of the
suspects while another suspect, holding an active taser, removed his backpack,
dumping its contents on the ground, and taking a wallet, sunglasses, and cigarettes.
All three suspects then fled northbound on Mission Street only to return a
short time later demanding the victim surrender his pass code for his iPhone.
The suspects then ran away again. Report number: 150895492

Blk Silver Robbery
In chapter two of
this robbery saga, the same suspects approached a man parking his car at
Mission and Silver Streets. The victim told Ingleside Officer Hauscarriague
that three suspects, two men and a woman, approached his vehicle and reached in
and took his cell phone from the center console. The startled victim began
honking his car horn prompting the suspects to flee. The frightened victim
decided to follow the suspects as they ran away on Mission Street, which he did
until one of the suspects noticed the victim following them. The suspects
stopped and pointed a weapon at the victim which persuaded him to abandon his
pursuit. But the suspects were not finished with their morning crime spree as
you will read next. Report number: 150895254
6:32am Mission/Bosworth Robbery
Another man waiting for his ride to work was approached
by the same three suspects who took out a taser and demanded his money. The
victim surrendered his property and the suspects walked away just as the
victim’s ride arrived. The victim’s called police and started trailing the
suspects. But, one of the suspects noticed they were being followed and took
out a weapon and pointed it at the victims. Ingleside Officers Lim and Chang
arrived and were flagged down by the victims. They pointed out the female
subject who was standing a few feet away. Lim and Chang quickly placed her in
custody. The other two suspects were
arrested a short distance away and their weapons, along with much of the stolen
property, were also recovered. Ingleside Officer Hauscarriague arrived soon
after with a victim from a previous robbery who quickly identified the suspects
as the robbers who took his property. All three were booked on a variety of
felony charges. Report number: 150895298

Phelan Avenue Robbery
A fight involving two men, with possibly a weapon, caused
quite a stir on the City College campus. These days any call possibly involving
a weapon on campus merits a serious response from law enforcement. So when
dispatch alerted City College police and Ingleside officers that two men were
fighting near the campus library and one of the combatants may have had a
firearm, Several community college officers along with Ingleside police
personnel arrived and found the wounded victim hiding in a library office. He
identified the assailant as a fellow student. The officers interviewed
witnesses and put out a city wide call to pick up the suspect. The next day,
the suspect surrendered to City College police and was booked at the County
Jail for assault with a weapon and robbery. Report number: 150895884
