The
City and County of San Francisco invites you to join a highly respected police
department and serve the citizens of one of the most beautiful cities in the
country. San Francisco Police Officers perform a wide variety of duties to
promote public safety and security, prevent crime and enforce the law. Police
officers perform a number of essential functions. For example, they patrol
districts to prevent and detect crime; respond to calls for assistance; conduct
criminal investigations; interact with the community to build cooperation and
support; pursue and arrest suspects; enforce traffic and parking laws; write
reports and maintain records; work with superiors, peers, and others as a team;
prepare for and participate in planned events; prepare for court and give
testimony; and fulfill other administrative duties when required. This is much

Arrests:
11:45am Geneva/Mission Stolen Vehicle
Ingleside Officers Schlegle and Rodriguez were on special
duty watching for illegal activity around MUNI bus stops and vehicles when they
noticed three young men standing at a bus stop but failing to board any one of the
numerous buses that stopped. The officers watched closely as the men then
walked past several parked cars on Geneva Avenue peering into each one. Finally
the men got into a dark blue 2013 VW Golf and started driving westbound on
Geneva Avenue. The officers followed and asked dispatch to run the plates.
Dispatch informed the officers that the VW was reported stolen only a few hours
before from an address in the Ingleside neighborhood. The officers called for
backup and several officers responded. Eventually, the suspects pulled into the
McDonalds on Ocean Avenue where the officers surrounded the vehicle. Inside
they found a significant quantity of marijuana, a scale to weigh the drug for
sale, and an airsoft replica pistol, along with several cell phones. Two of the
suspects were transported to the Juvenile Justice Center and booked for the auto
theft and possession of marijuana for sale. The other juveniles were released
to the custody of their parents. Report number: 150781932
