Arrests:

1:52am       Dolores/30th St                        D.U.I
Upon responding to a call regarding a possible drunk driver, Officers Neary and Kikuchi spotted the car stopped in a lane on Dolores Street while the traffic light was green. The car was damaged and on three wheels. The officers approached the car, saw the passenger side wheel missing, and noticed moderate damage to the vehicle. Officer Kikuchi asked the driver to turn the vehicle off. The driver stumbled out of the vehicle, almost falling over and had a distinct odor of alcohol. The officers noticed that the driver also had watery eyes, an unsteady gate, and slurred speech. Due to the driver’s apparent level of intoxication, Officer Neary proceeded to arrest the driver. The officers then transported the suspect to Mission Station to conduct a blood draw. During the blood draw, the suspect yanked his hand causing the needle to impale the phlebotomist. The suspect was taken to county jail and booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting a law enforcement officer. Report number: 150808934

8:05am       Richland/Leese                       Attempted Robbery
Officer Naval responded to an attempted robbery call on Richland Avenue. Upon arrival, Officer Naval met with the victim and the victim confirmed that he was not injured nor did he need medical care. The victim explained to the officer that three suspects approached him while he was walking on Richland Avenue. They surrounded him and one of the suspects pulled out a knife and tried grab the victim’s jacket pockets. This caused the victim to turn around and run away from the three suspects. The victim was not chased, did not have any property stolen, and was provided additional follow up information by Officer Naval. The area was searched for suspects to no avail.
