One of the males walked up the stairs to a home belonging to a friend of the reportee whom she knew were at work. The reportee advised that she knew the male loitering on the stairs did not live there. Another male stood by at the bottom of the stairs as if he were “watching out.” While en route to the address, the officer observed a male close to the address hiding under some stairs. They detained the male and noticed he had a blue pair of latex gloves in his shirt pocket.
Officers Obot and Johnson arrived at the address in question and noticed damage to the front door and frame. They searched the home and it was empty. Officer Preston then detained individuals inside a vehicle close by matching the description provided by the reportee. He observed the driver placing blue latex gloves in the driver’s door jam. Officer Preston had the male exit the vehicle and stand by pending the investigation.
The reportee positively identified the two males detained as the ones she observed in front of the home and on the steps. Both males were identified by their California Driver’s License and transported to Ingleside station. The vehicle was towed to Auto Return.
