1:31am       Mission & Mt. Vernon                     Stolen Vehicle

Two eagle eyed Ingleside Officers, Wong and Demkowski, noticed something amiss with a late model Ford Escape, parked, with the engine running. The officers ran the plate and it turned out the Ford had been reported stolen out of Daly City. The officers stopped their patrol car and activated their emergency lights and siren. All the occupants were removed without incident and the driver was arrested for vehicle theft and then taken to Ingleside Station for booking. Report number: 171006193

1:20pm       1800 Blk. San Jose                         Resisting Arrest

Ingleside Captain Hart, working the streets of the district as part of his effort to curb petty and serious crimes, noticed something suspicious in the area of the 200 block of Judson. It’s an area where the Captain receives numerous complaints from citizens regarding car thefts, stolen property, especially bicycles, at all hours of the day and night. This afternoon he surreptitiously watched as a subject, holding a baseball bat, moved items out of a garage and into a dumpster parked on the street. The suspect then got on a bicycle and started pedaling away at a high rate of speed through intersections while ignoring stop signs. The Captain followed and ordered the suspect to stop in the 1800 block of San Jose Avenue. The suspect initially was cooperative although he wouldn’t give the Captain any information about his identity. The Captain performed a check of the suspect’s clothing and found a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. The Captain then tried to place the suspect in custody, but the suspect had other ideas. He took off running with the Captain in pursuit while radioing for assistance. The chase went for blocks before Ingleside Officer Salazar, hearing the Captain’s broadcast, joined the chase and captured the suspect near San Gabriel Avenue. He was arrested for resisting arrest and taken to Ingleside Station for booking. A computer check also revealed he had a $250,000 warrant for his arrest for stalking. Report number: 171007492

10:03pm     Mission & Italy                               Firearm

A report of a “man with a gun” at Mission and Italy Streets, prompted dispatch to send Ingleside Officers Hermosura and Wong to investigate. While in-route the officers heard a radio call that Mission District officers had stopped a white Nissan involved in a hit and run accident 26^th and Capp Streets. At Mission and Italy, Hermosura and Wong interviewed a man and woman who said the driver of that Nissan pointed a handgun at them while speeding down Mission Street a short time before. The victim’s positively identified the Nissan and the woman driver as the suspect who had threatened them with a firearm. Officers found two loaded firearms in the Nissan during the Mission District arrest. Report number: 171009028

9:46am       Munich & Excelsior                         D.U.I

Dispatchers heard loud arguing in the background as callers reported a traffic accident involving five vehicles. One witness said an SUV driver had collided with the parked vehicles and was stuck between two of them. Ingleside Officers Anderson and Burke arrived and found the SUV driver outside his vehicle. He was barely able to stand and had slurred speech. He admitted to the officers that he drank “7 shots” and the accident “was all his fault”. He was placed in custody and removed from the area after several bystanders expressed their anger at the suspect. A blood alcohol test at Mission Station revealed a level over twice the legal limit. The suspect was transported to the County Jail and booked for DUI. Report number: 171005838

2:13pm       San Bruno & Ward                      Warrant

Dispatch received a call of a man, on a red bicycle, carrying a bunch of keys, casing vehicles. Ingleside Officers Calupad and Peregrina, along with Lt. McEachern and Sgt. Martin responded and found the suspect. They checked his records and found he had a $50,000 warrant for his arrest for burglary, theft, and narcotics violations. A search of his clothing revealed, bolt cutters, wire cutters, a pry bar, and shaved keys, items used to break into vehicles. He also had a quantity of methamphetamine on his person. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for the warrants, possession of burglary tools, and narcotics. Report number: 171001870

12:24am     Mission & Geneva                         Deadly Weapon

A road rage incident almost cost a man his life. The victim told Ingleside Officers McCall and Lozano that he was driving south on Mission Street from Daly City when a man in another car yelled, through his window, that the victim almost hit him. The victim told the other driver he didn’t see him and kept driving. But the suspect also followed him and when they reached the intersection of Whittier and Mission, the suspect rolled down his passenger window and pointed a semi-automatic firearm at the victim. The victim drove away and made a right turn at Geneva and called police. Report number: 171000264

7:40am       3300 Blk. Mission                          Robbery

A customer notified the Safeway store manager that another customer was stealing cans of Red Bull beverages. The suspect walked out of the store without paying with the manager following close behind. Once in the parking lot the manager asked for the items back. The manager told Ingleside Officers Alejandrino and Prieto that instead of returning the Red Bull, the suspect took out a large knife and threatened him. The suspect then boarded a southbound Muni bus and escaped. Report number: 171000612

8:10pm       500 Blk. 30^th Street                       Robbery

A man walking near the entrance to Billy Goat Hill Park was robbed of his belongings. The victim told Ingleside Officers Foxworth and Espinosa that he was walking home on Laidley towards 30^th Street when an unknown masked man approached from behind. The victim heard the suspect pull the slide back on an automatic weapon just before the suspect asked him to place all his belongings on the ground. The victim complied surrendering a cell phone, debit and credit cards, cash and identification. The suspect then said, “don’t turn around or I’ll shoot you” and “keep walking away”. The victim complied and continued walking north on 30^th Street towards Castro. The victim walked home and called police. Report number: 171002925

11:51am     100 Blk. Alemany                   Resisting Arrest

A dispute at the Alemany Farmers Market led to a violent attack on one man and violent threats to police officers. Ingleside Officer Campos responded to a report of a fight involving two men. When he arrived he found one man with severe injuries to his face. While interviewing the man, another man appeared and accused the injured man of taking items belonging to him. The accuser then threatened to kill Officer Campos, balling up his fists, and charging at Campos. Campos radioed for assistance and took out his baton to keep the suspect at bay. But the suspect kept charging him and Campos kept waving the baton to keep the suspect from harming him. Finally, as additional units showed up, the suspect took off and ran away on Cortland Avenue where, after a brief struggle, he was subdued and arrested by Ingleside Officers Lim and Cvetovac.  Witnesses told the officers the suspect had brandished a large knife at the victim before police arrived on scene. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and booked for resisting arrest, assault, and other crimes. Report number: 170998446

A “Shots Fired” sensor notified dispatch of gunshots in the area of the 1700 block of Sunnydale Avenue. Ingleside Officers Foxworth, Tom, Marshall, Glover, Johnson, and Sgt. Martin arrived and canvassed the area. A man flagged down Officer Tom who said his rear kitchen window was damaged by gunfire. He said he didn’t hear any gunfire and only heard the sound of the kitchen window being damaged. Report number: 170999303

5:17pm       1500 Blk. Sunnydale                         Aggravated Assault

Several reports of shots fired prompted dispatch to send several Ingleside units to investigate. When they arrived they didn’t find any witnesses or victims, but they did find 35 shell casings at or near the intersection. Shortly thereafter, dispatch notified the officers that a victim had been dropped off at San Francisco General Hospital with two gunshot wounds to his leg. Ingleside Officers Lau, Naser, and Foxworth went to the hospital and found the victim was wanted on a no bail $148,000 dollar warrant out of Santa Clara County for grand theft. He was also had a warrant for his arrest for burglary and other crimes out of San Francisco. After his release from the hospital he was arrested for the warrants and transported to the County Jail. Ingleside Officers Anderson and Burke responded to a report of a car on fire in McLaren Park. When they arrived on scene they noticed that SFFD firefighters had already extinguished the blaze on a 10 year old Dodge Nitro. The officers were unable to contact the owner of the vehicle and it was towed to impound. Report number: 170995038

4:20pm       Bosworth & Diamond                      Theft

A woman and her friend were sitting at a bus stop shelter when two men suddenly appeared. One of the men asked the women if they knew what time the bus was arriving. The women responded until one of the men quickly grabbed an IPhone from the hands of one of the victims and ran away east on Bosworth. Ingleside Officer Foxworth responded and searched the area for the suspects without success. Report number: 17099575

9:35pm       Raymond & Bayshore                    Robbery w/Force

A man standing at the corner was suddenly approached by a suspect who punched the victim several times in the face, knocking him to the ground. The suspect then reached into the victim’s pockets and stole cash before fleeing southbound on Bayshore Blvd. Ingleside Officers George and Smith arrived and summoned medical assistance. The victim was transported to Seton Medical Center for treatment. Officers searched the surrounding area for the suspect without success. Report number: 170997169

7:12am       Unit Blk. Santos                     Assault

A man wanted for a particularly violent attack on a woman was arrested thanks to the curiosity of Ingleside Officers Phillips and Dang. The suspect had a “search and seizure warrant” stemming from an attack that occurred earlier at a Santos Street residence. Phillips and Dang were on routine patrol when they spotted a covered motorcycle parked at the same address. When the officers lifted the cover they found a motorcycle belonging to the wanted suspect. The officers called for backup and over half a dozen Ingleside units responded to the scene. The officers entered the suspect’s home where he quickly surrendered. He was booked for the warrant and for violation of a protective order. Report number: 170992078

3:02am       200 Blk. Chenery                   Arson

Smoke emanating from a mailbox prompted dispatch to send fire units along with Ingleside Officer Zhao. When Officer Zhao arrived the flames had been extinguished. The exterior of the mailbox was undamaged and he was unable to discover what damage, if any, was suffered by mail deposited in the box. The Arson Squad was notified along with the U.S. Postal inspector. Report number: 170992391

3:12pm       Sunnydale & Persia                Attempted Homicide

Gunfire erupted as the occupant of a silver vehicle fired almost a dozen rounds at the occupants of a white vehicle traveling ahead of them. One of the occupants in the white vehicle was severely injured with a wound to his spine. He’s under treatment at San Francisco General Hospital. Several Ingleside units responded to the scene and to San Francisco General Hospital. Numerous casings were found at the intersection of Persia and Sunnydale Avenue. Other rounds were found a block away. At the Hospital, officers found several bullet holes in the parked white vehicle. They also located a firearm near one of the entrances to the hospital. The department’s Gang Task Force and other specialized SFPD units have taken over the investigation. Report number: 170993838

7:45am       Cordova & Rolph            Aggravated Assault

A man was brutally attacked while walking his dog by an unknown assailant. The victim told Ingleside Sgt. Young along with Officers Gonzalez and Kerlegan that he was walking northbound on Cordova when an unknown suspect approached from behind, jumped on his back, and started punching him in the head. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect casually walked away after a woman witness yelled at him while driving by. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The victim’s wife told the officers her husband did not have any disputes with anyone that she knows of. She did say, however, there was a suspicious incident two days prior when the front window of their home was shattered by an unknown suspect or suspects. Ingleside officers, using a description of the suspect, scoured the neighborhood for him without success. Report number: 170989542

9:00pm       Unit Blk. Ocean            Assault with Caustic Chemical

A woman walking home was suddenly pepper sprayed by another woman who quickly apologized saying, “are you okay, sorry”. The victim told Ingleside Officers Lozano and McCall she went home and flushed her eyes with water and washed her face to remove the chemical. She declined medical assistance and described her attacker as a woman, in her thirties, who appeared to be intoxicated. Report number: 170992103
