There will be increased foot patrols in shopping areas throughout the city, including the horse/mounted unit, plainclothes officers and traffic enforcement.“The men and women of the San Francisco Police Department wish everyone a safe and joyful holiday season,” said Chief William Scott. “Whether you’re shopping for gifts or going about your daily routine, it’s important to remain careful and aware to prevent theft. Follow our tips to help keep you and your belongings safe.”• Stay alert when using electronic devices. Limit your distractions.• Always be alert to your surroundings and have your keys in your hand as you approach your vehicle.• Park Smart: Help avoid vehicle break-ins, leave nothing visible in your car. Consider moving your vehicle to a different location each time you load packages in the trunk. Try to use parking lots where there are parking attendants.• Keep your wallet in a hard-to-reach place and carry only the cash and credit cards that you will need to complete your shopping.• If someone demands your purse, wallet, or packages, surrender them, make note of the suspect’s description and direction they flee and call 911. Property can be replaced.• If you see something, say something. If you witness criminal activity or see something or someone suspicious, flag down a police officer, call 911 or contact security.• Use 311 to report auto burglaries.• Shop with a companion, especially after dark, whenever possible.• Shield your PIN when using ATMs or other electronic devices in public.Please report criminal activity to police immediately. Arrests:3:30am San Jose & Ocean Robbery/Domestic ViolenceA woman walked into Ingleside Station and told Officer Govindbhai that she had been robbed and her car vandalized. The woman said she picked up her ex-boyfriend near Ocean Beach and was driving him to his home on Onondaga Street when the pair got into an argument near the Balboa Park BART Station. She told the officer her ex-boyfriend kicked the door of her car and grabbed her backpack from the front seat. He also tried to steal her car by reaching in the window and grabbing her keys. MUNI drivers, seeing the fight, held the suspect and told the woman to drive away and call police. She went to Ingleside Station and her ex-boyfriend ran away to his home on Onondaga where Ingleside Officers Cassinelli and George found him. He was arrested at the scene and charged with robbery and domestic violence. Report number: 1709704727:56pm Unit Blk. Everson Warrant ArrestA call about suspicious activity in a vehicle prompted dispatch to send Ingleside Officers Hardy and Thomas to investigate. When they arrived they found a man, not wearing, clothes, sitting in the front seat. A computer check revealed he was wanted on a $20-thouand dollar warrant from San Mateo County. Inside the car the officers found a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine. He was transported to Ingleside Station and booked for the outstanding warrants and narcotics paraphernalia. Serious Incidents:3:53am 100 Blk. Evelyn Hot Prowl BurglaryA woman woke up her husband after being awakened by a loud noise at the back door and the barking of their dog. He got up and went to the back door and found it partially broken on the bottom half. His wife called dispatch and soon Ingleside Officers Hardy and Thomas arrived and found the door severely damaged. The officers searched the surrounding area and for suspects without success. Report number: 1709705415:06pm 4300 Blk. Mission WeaponA dispute over unpaid parking tickets led to violent threats. A car owner told Ingleside Officers Quinlan and Rosales-Renteria that he let a homeless friend sleep in his car parked on Mission Street. The parked car eventually was tagged several times adding up to $800 in unpaid traffic tickets. When the car owner asked his tenant for the money the tenant became irate and took out a knife to threaten his Good Samaritan friend. The homeless tenant told a different story. He said the car owner hit him in the face and that’s why he took out a knife to defend himself. Both combatants refused to sign a citizen’s arrest form against the other person so both were released at the scene. Report number: 17097243411:30pm 200 Blk. Arlington Aggravated AssaultA stalker escalated his activity by assaulting his victim with his vehicle. The woman victim walked into Ingleside Station to report a man who would not take “no” for an answer and rammed her car as they both drove down Arlington Street. She told Ingleside Officers Lundy the wannabe suitor keeps appearing out of nowhere and she keeps telling him to leave her alone. On this evening he was driving next to her on Arlington when he suddenly hit her driver’s side door and fled.
