2:05am San Jose & Randall D.U.I
A
report of a traffic collision on the Muni streetcar tracks prompted dispatch to
send Ingleside Officers Zhao and Fogarty to investigate. When the officers
arrived they found the driver and passenger standing outside their car which
was stuck on the tracks. A witness told the officers she observed the driver
make a left turn from westbound Randall onto southbound San Jose, but instead
of proceeding on the roadway, the driver entered the Muni tracks, struck a
light pole, and came to a stop. The woman driver exited the car and stood
looking at the damage until Officers Zhao and Fogarty arrived a short time
later. The driver, who had blood shot eyes, unsteady gait, and alcohol smell on
her breath, told the officers she had only consumed one beer at a Union Street
bar that evening. The suspect was given a standard roadside sobriety test and
failed each portion of the exam. She agreed to take a breath alcohol test and
was driven to the CHP San Francisco office where the exam revealed a blood
alcohol level almost three times the legal limit. The suspect was transported
to the County Jail and booked for DUI. Report number: 170910876

fleeing unknown suspects who had fired shots at her. She said she was traveling
at a high rate of speed down Mansell when she attempted to make a left turn
onto Visitacion and collided with a pole.
She refused medical attention. She also refused medical attention for
her young toddler son who was in the car. The driver was cited for excessive
