Officer Gomez responded and spoke to the couple, who said that while they were in their bedroom they overheard noises coming from the kitchen area. The girlfriend became concerned and went to investigate. She was startled when she saw a strange man, wearing a surgical mask with tattoos all over his neck, crawling through the kitchen window. When the suspect saw the victim he said, “I have keys. I’m supposed to be here.” The victim immediately yelled at the suspect to get off their deck. The suspect crawled back out the window and fled the area. The victim ran to the front of the house and kept an eye on the suspect as her boyfriend called the police. The suspect quickly ducked into the Upper Noe Recreation Center to hide. His action to stay hidden was thwarted when a rec employee saw him hiding in the woman’s bathroom. Officer Gomez waited for back-up to arrive before apprehending the suspect.
