Diamond Trespassing
A homeowner went to visit his house under renovation and
discovered a man inside the building. He called police and Ingleside Officers
Chang and Gomez found the trespasser in the backyard. He was removed from the
home and arrested. The homeowner said his building is unoccupied during the
remodel, but that he and his real estate agent visit the home on a regular
basis. Report number: 170400720

Ellsworth Hot Prowl Burglary
(Captains Note: This event reinforces the rule that you should never
enter your home if you see an open door. Stop, call police, and wait outside.)
This woman and her son returned home and noticed their garage
door was open. They walked inside and saw a downstairs room in disarray. The
homeowner yelled, “Who’s there?” A woman’s voice, from upstairs, yelled back,
“…. You, I figured out how to open your garage door. Get ….. out!” The woman,
fearing for her life, grabbed her son and fled the home through the open garage
door. The pair saw the suspect exit the home, carrying clothes and valuables,
shouting threats, and running away on Ellsworth towards Bernal Heights Blvd.
Ingleside Officers Mendiola, Labson, Garza, and Sgt. Ly arrived on scene and
found the suspect a few blocks away. She was arrested and the stolen items
returned to the homeowner. The victims, inside the home, found several rooms
ransacked with items strewn about the floors. Report number: 170402481

11:40am 100 Blk. Ankeny Hot Prowl Burglary
Ingleside Officers Cvetovac, Elliston, and Lt. Yee responded
to another call involving a home burglary where the suspect broke into the
residence while someone was home. When the officers arrived a residents showed
them several rooms that had been ransacked with shoes, electronics gear, and
other items stolen. The officers discovered the burglars had climbed over a
backyard fence, broke the window on a door, reached in and opened the door to
enter the home. A woman, who lives at the home, heard the burglars break in and
called her son, who called police. The officers talked to neighbors one of whom
told the officers that he saw two suspects in the burgled home’s backyard. He
asked them what they were doing there and one of the suspects responded, “We’re
hiding from the police”. When he asked if they were “dangerous”, the suspects
said they were not dangerous. Report number: 170401659
