The officer watched as the suspect walked out of the store, past the cash registers, and into the parking lot where he was asked to return the items. He refused. He was asked just to leave the items in the parking lot and again, he refused. He started walking away and was stopped by the security guard. A struggle erupted between the two before the security guard gained control over the situation. Ingleside officers Marshall and Zubko arrived and placed the suspect in custody. He told the officers before being transported to the hospital and then to jail that he was suffering through heroin withdrawals. Report number: 170251614
Serious Incidents:9:28am 29th & Church TheftA woman riding the “J” streetcar toward her job noticed a man and woman staring at her while sitting across the aisle from her. She told Ingleside officer Chang that she was listening to music on her IPhone and couldn’t hear the pair’s conversation. The woman exited the streetcar at Church and Day streets and started walking northbound on Church Street with the pair following her. At 29th Street the woman suspect suddenly snatched her IPhone and ran away towards Dolores Street. The victim kept walking toward her job with the male suspect following her until she reached her place of employment where, as she entered her job, he ran away. The victim told Ingleside officer Mendiola the suspect grabbed the phone from his hand and rode away southbound on Mission Street. The victim chased the suspect for a short time before calling police. Report number: 1702520488:54pm Santa Marina & Mission RobberyIngleside officer Hoge was dispatched to a report of a robbery. When he arrived on scene he found a distraught woman with torn leggings and fresh blood above her right knee. The woman told Hoge that two men rushed up behind her and grabbed her purse pulling her to the ground. One of the suspects then grabbed her cell phone but the victim, while screaming for help, was able to hang on to it. The suspects then ran away Northbound on Mission toward Cortland Street. The victim declined medical attention.
