Serious Incidents:

10:20am     San Bruno & Somerset                   Robbery
A young woman Muni passenger was the victim of a robbery. She told Ingleside Officers Trujillo and Phillips that she was seated on the right side of the bus when an unknown man snatched a backpack next to her legs on the floor. The victim grabbed hold of the backpack and unsuccessfully struggled to prevent the theft. The suspect then exited the bus using the middle doors and ran away northbound on San Bruno Avenue with the victim in pursuit. She chased the suspect to the 3800 block of San Bruno Avenue where he turned and ran on a pathway between two homes. Fearing for her safety, the woman victim terminated her pursuit and returned to the bus to wait for police. Inside the stolen backpack was a laptop, a zipper bag, and cosmetics. The officers gave the obviously upset victim a ride to her nearby home. Report number: 170292680

The victim told Ingleside Officers Burke and Washington she was walking home with her purse held tightly to her body when an unknown man walked up behind her and forcibly grabbed the purse, using both hands, and tore it away from her. The suspect then ran to a waiting silver sedan parked at the corner which sped away. The victim yelled for help and a witness called 911.
