Arrests:

3:20am       Wilde & Girard                           Firearm
Ingleside officers were on alert for a 20 year old Mercury Topaz which had previously avoided an attempt by police to stop the car. On this early morning, Ingleside Officers Ortega and Jensen spotted the Mercury on the unit block of Teddy Street where several previous arrests for narcotics have been made. Ortega and Jensen radioed for backup and when the Mercury started moving the officers moved in behind and activated their vehicles red light and siren. Fortunately, this time, the driver yielded to the officers. Inside the Mercury was a driver and four passengers. One of the passengers was clear of wants and warrants while the driver and the other three passengers had significant criminal records. The Mercury’s driver had a package of cocaine in his clothing and a ring of 10 shaved keys used for vehicle thefts. A woman passenger kept fidgeting with her clothing, which aroused the suspicion of Ingleside Sgt. Fegan and for good reason. She had a loaded .32 caliber pistol hidden in her clothing. She told the Sergeant that the driver, spotting the officers tailing their vehicle, told her to hang on to the pistol. She told the officers, “It was her Valentines present”.  The woman was also wanted on a no-bail warrant for narcotics violations out of South San Francisco. The driver also had a warrant for his arrest out of San Mateo County. The third passenger also had a quantity of narcotics on his person and was placed under arrest along with his two car mates. A young man, riding the #8 Muni bus, was texting on his cell phone when another passenger suddenly approached from behind. The victim told Ingleside Officers Hoge and Beltran the suspect grabbed the cellphone from his hands and jumped off the bus at Sunnydale and Hahn Streets. The victim, possibly emboldened with adrenaline, jumped off the bus in pursuit and caught up with the robber a short distance away.
