The next Ingleside Community meeting will be held at the Boys & Girls Club-Visitacion Valley Clubhouse located at 251 Leland Avenue on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 7 p.m. There will be light refreshments available to those who come to the meeting.  All are welcome to attend.

The question in the song “what are you doing New Year’s Eve”, is usually answered by many officers as “working”. And so it was for Ingleside Officers Ortega and McMilton who began the day responding to a shoplifting call at the Safeway supermarket. It wasn’t an unusual call for the last day of the year. Thieves like to stock up on their liquor supply in anticipation of a rowdy party that evening. On this day, a Safeway employee spotted the thief grabbing three bottles of liquor, hiding them in his coat, and walking out of the store to a car in the parking lot, then placing the liquor in the car. Ortega and McMilton arrived and questioned the suspect. He became uncooperative and soon thereafter, combative. He was finally placed in custody and cited for petty theft and then released. A man unloading groceries in front of his home, from the trunk of his vehicle, was approached by an unknown man who told him “don’t move”, and “give me what you got”. The victim told Ingleside Officers Siracusa, Quinlan, and Dito that he retreated into his garage just as another resident of the home exited from a door in the garage with the victim’s two dogs. The dogs began barking aggressively at the robber who walked away southbound on Alpha Street without getting any of the victim’s property. Report number: 161063614
