Gennessee BurglaryA burglar was apprehended thanks to the quick work of Ingleside Officers Hermosura, Parker, Hawkins, and Dilag. A homeowner called dispatch with concerns after a remote device alerted her to trespassers inside her home, which was being remodeled. The officers responded with Hermosura and Dilag in front of the home and Parker and Hawkins going to the back. When Parker and Hawkins entered the backyard they found a man trying to scale a wall into a neighbor’s property. They ordered him to “stop” but he continued to climb the wall. Fortunately, he wasn’t a good climber and fell to the ground into the hands of the officers. The homeowner, who was staying elsewhere during construction, arrived and said she did not know the intruder. She pointed out a strange car parked in her driveway with paper plates and a piece of cardboard covering up the VIN number on the dashboard. The officer’s opened the door, ran the VIN, which revealed the Honda was a stolen vehicle. Inside the vehicle were two bolt cutters used to access the home. The suspect was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary and other crimes. Report number: 160950183[HAN1]1:34pm 2200 Blk. Bayshore Recovered VehicleAn inquisitive Ingleside Officer Mora thought it was odd when the driver of an older Acura Integra moved from a “yellow” zone parking space into a “handicapped” parking spot at the 7-11 store. The driver and his passenger then exited the Acura and went into the 7-11 Store. Officer Mora typed in the Acura license plate into his computer and quickly discovered the Acura was stolen earlier in San Francisco. He radioed for backup and soon thereafter, Ingleside officers Williams and other arrived to place the driver under arrest. He was on active probation out of Alameda County after a conviction for auto theft. He also had a pocket knife and a glass pipe used to ingest narcotics in his possession. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for auto theft and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. The Acura was returned to its owner. Report number: 16094270410:52pm Mission & Sickles D.U.IIngleside Officers Parker and Ortega were dispatched to the scene of a hit and run accident. When they arrived on scene two Daly City officers were struggling with a man in the intersection. The suspect was the driver of a Jeep that collided with a traffic pole less than a block away. A witness called police after viewing the collision and watching the driver walking away from the scene of the collision. All four officers were able to subdue the suspect and put him in handcuffs. The officers noticed the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. He was given a field sobriety test which he failed. He agreed to a breath alcohol analysis test, which concluded with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit. The suspect was taken to San Francisco General and booked for D.U.I. Report number: 160953331Serious Incidents:9:58am Unit Blk. Blythedale Shots FiredA report of gunshots sent Ingleside Officers Sherry, Langley, and Williams to the unit block of Blythedale. When they arrived on scene, the officers discovered numerous shell casings in the street and three parked vehicles with bullet holes. Witnesses told the officers about hearing shots and watching a suspect run away. However, the descriptions were too vague to bring about an immediate arrest. The incident was assigned to the Statin Investigate Team for further action. This is one of those events. Ingleside Officers Zhao and Washington responded to a report of a robbery. The victim told the officers that, a short time before their arrival, he had exited a #8 Muni bus and was about to walk home when two men got out of a newer Honda and approached him. One of the men pointed a black gun at his stomach and started going through his pockets. The suspects took his IPhone, a wallet, and a tan messenger bag before getting back in the car and driving away in an unknown direction. The victim told the officers that his IPhone had internet tracking software. Officer Zhao put out a city wide alert with the tracking information. Soon thereafter Officer Hart, from Central Station, found the vehicle with the phone traveling northbound on Leavenworth Street, approaching Jefferson, near Fisherman’s Wharf. He turned on his emergency lights and siren and the suspect’s vehicle pulled over. As he exited his patrol car, the vehicle suddenly sped away at a high rate of speed. Officer Hart pursued the vehicle, but lost it in the vicinity of AT&T Park. Mission Station Sergeant’s Johnson and Perez, listening to the robbery broadcast which was giving the location of the vehicle by monitoring the IPhone tracking information, joined the chase and quickly caught up with the fleeing vehicle near the Millbrae Avenue exit on Highway #101. Soon thereafter, CHP units joined the chase and took over the primary pursuit which ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed and overturned on El Camino Real in Sunnyvale. The driver was taken into custody and his passenger was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s cell phone was discovered a short distance away from the suspect’s vehicle. Report number: 160950127Serious Incidents:1:15pm 700 Blk. Silver Stolen VehicleIngleside Officers Kikuchi and Williams were dispatched to take a report of a car stolen from the Hillcrest Market parking lot. When they arrived on scene the owner said he had left the keys in his older Toyota Corolla while he went shopping at the market. But what really concerned the officers was that inside the Corolla’s trunk were several firearms and ammunition. The officers put out a city wide bulletin and shortly, thereafter, Bayview officers found the stolen car, fortunately with the firearms and ammunition still in the trunk. The victim then told the officers he also owned several other firearms at his home on Madrid Street. He invited the officers back to the home where they found additional firearms and ammunition in an unsafe location. All the firearms were taken to Ingleside Station for safekeeping and the owner was given a property receipt. After tallying the list of guns and ammunition the victim claimed he owned the officers concluded there was still one missing weapon. A description of that weapon was broadcast to all officers in the City. The goal is to exceed last year’s toy drive, in which approximately 2,500 items were donated at 30 Walgreens stores for distribution to San Francisco children.“Everyone can make a difference in a child’s life,” said Interim Police Chief Toney Chaplin. “San Franciscans are generous, thoughtful people and we believe they will step up to brighten the holidays for children and provide happy memories for years to come. We thank Walgreens for doing their part again this year to help San Francisco youth.”Donors can purchase or drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any San Francisco Walgreens that features a brightly colored and marked toy drive collection bin. Those unable to drop off a toy may also contribute to a Go Fund Me account (https://www.gofundme.com/sfpdtoydrive2016) established by the San Francisco Police Foundation to purchase toys for underprivileged children this holiday season.Arrests:There are no arrests to report.Serious Incidents:There are no serious incidents to report.Vehicle and Other Incidents:08:28am 1200 Blk Geneva Battery12:45pm 200 Blk Morse Battery01:42pm 1600 Blk Geneva Traffic Violation Arrest02:00pm 500 Blk Tompkins Theft from Vehicle03:45pm Rutland/Teddy Hit and Run05:35pm 5300 Blk Mission Vandalism to Property05:45pm Nevada/Ogden Vandalism to Vehicle06:50pm Visitacion/Rey Vandalism to Vehicle08:30pm 1200 Blk Brazil Theft from Vehicle09:00pm 5300 Blk Mission Theft from Vehicle09:30pm Brazil/La Grande Stolen Vehicle10:21pm Mission/Avalon No driver’s License Issued
