Arrests:11:57am 3300 Blk Mission Battery/ShopliftingA known shoplifter decided to pick up a couple of items at Safeway and, as usual, not pay. The suspect walked into the store and quickly went to the liquor aisle and grabbed a bottle of champagne. He also picked up a bottle of Pellegrino water before walking to the front of the store where an employee tried to stop him. He pushed past the employee and left the store. The employee called police and Ingleside Officers Suguitan and Hill arrived just in time to arrest the suspect in the store parking lot. They placed him custody and found, besides the stolen items, a large knife in one of his pockets. A struggle ensued while the officers tried to place the suspect in the patrol car. The suspect said to the officers, “I just got back out. I ain’t going back inside”, referring to his previous stay in prison. Fortunately, both officers were able to subdue the suspect and place him inside the patrol car. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for battery and theft.
